As good as his teams were at Arkansas, they were never as good as the Louisville teams he has had.  Our defense was never like this under Petrino and even though our offense was good, it was not the juggernaut the Cardinals have!  When Bobby is at Louisville, everything just seems to click!

He will gag once this year and rob his team of a playoff spot. He will always suffer with voters due to his ** personality.

He rescued Grantham from UGA and got a solid DC. Somehow, he manages to find coaches who can recruit for him.

I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. Offense is much more valued in the ACC than it is in the SEC. This sets up perfect for his system.

Agreed, but right now their defense is the real shocker!  They look like Alabama against FSU today!

From twitter, "petrino can't ride a Harley, but he sure can coach."

Lol.

Plus he only has one or two tough games a year.  As of now I'm seeing Louisville vs Bama in the NCG

FSU is not really that good. They are soft and lazy!

Florida State looked good against Ole Miss but the Rebel Bears are always in the verge of collapse.  This isn't too surprising.

Bama is about to destroy Mississippi before 6:00 today. FSU and Mississippi are both very overrated.

Overrated or not, 49-10 in the third?  Thats a score you put up against north texas, not florida st.

Still has to play Clemson and Houston.

Impressive win ... and enough big games this season to be favorites for getting in the playoffs.  With Jackson at QB, and Petrino as their coach, they may end up favorites to take it all.

He can recruit more easily there. ACC juco transfer rules are much easier, eligibility-wise. Louisville also will admit other players who could not get into an SEC school. Petrino can get enough talent if he can recruit in the shadows.

Well Bobby still can coach. Makes you wonder.........
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Easiest way to recruit is win a lot of games.

Obviously, Petrino fits into the culture much better at the school who hires escorts for recruits.

Funny how that worked for him at Arkansas.

It worked fine for him while he was here and coaching.  Judging a coach by how the guys who followed him did is silly.  I guess Vince Lombardi was overrated because his successor, Phil Bengston, had a losing record over his first three seasons before being fired.

same way when Louisville brought in Kragthorpe after BP the first time. All of a sudden, so said the spin, Petrino had left a bare cupboard there. Truth is, Petrino has a way that brings these recruits lf his to heel, Krathorpe (and John L. Smith here) let the inmates start running the asylum. You do that, then you lose, you quit, you get blown out big, etc., but then you still have the ability to turn around and blow out somebody like Kentucky who is quitting worse than you are. I like the way, though it was so old-school, the way Petrino described in Sports Illustrated bringing a team together by being such a hard-ass to them. The players come together because they hate the coach so much, and yet they still play for him. Whatever it is, he manages to do it was sell as anyone. With Alabama type talent, it might be phenomenal what he would accomplish. And, it all boils down to having a competent QB. He is amazing if nothing else by the way he prepares a college quarterback. None have done much beyond college after great success, but under him they sure are something. Heisman talk, again, for a Petrino QB.

Yes, Jim, Petrino is like Holtz in that his act eventually wears thin, and he knows it. Holtz got mileage out of being a hardass, until it didn't work anymore. And both guys also had to endure incessant staff turnover, for similar reasons.

Yes it is funny how quickly he was able to win at Arkansas.

Win what?

Arkansas' third eleven win season over a 119 year span. And probably the last one on a while.

These are the threads you see when Hog fans are scared out of their minds that Bobby will get back in the SEC and own us forever.
