Here is the deal my grandma has a computer that we cant get logged in to we dont know the password.So I thought that I could wipe it out and reload windows what do you think.It has Windows 2000 professional.

A reformat would work. There are other ways to do it too. Just depends on how computer savvy you are.

I have personally done #3 Petter Nordahl-Hagen's Offline NT Password & Registry Editor on a Windows 2000 machine.

You just have to burn a CD with that on it, boot off CD, and reset the Administrator password.  Then login as Administrator and go to control panel, users, and change grandma's password.

I'm just seeing this.  I know that getting a boot disk is sometimes easier said than done.  There is a free, Windows compatible way from Ubutnu.
