Trapping is all good and well until a squirrel dog, deer dog, or coon dog get caught.

I have seen a really nice squirrel dog, an NKC sq champion, get caught in a trap and end his hunting career.

It is unfortunate when an accident occurs.  How did it end his hunting career?
