If a coach goes to the end of his contract, he gets nothing extra if they just do not offer him a new deal, coach has no leverage at all during the last year of his contract. 

So now we're worried someone will take him off our hands if we don't offer an extension?  If he doesn't make the tourney, he should not get an extension.  If his feelers are hurt, he can look elsewhere.  If he takes all of the newcomers from a #27 recruiting class and turns it into a Sweet 16 berth next year, then Arkansas will give him a raise and an extension. NO ONE will pay him what we are paying him right now based on the current ROI.  If he wins, he gets paid.

Mike has 2 years remaining on his contract , with the buyout burden in place with the former A.D and football coach , an the fact that the basketball team is not a failure.. I highly doubt Mike will be let go. This thread is just a place to blow off steam. Go hogs, get er done.

Anderson is all but guaranteed through the 18/19 season.  However, because we are not likely to be a tournament team next year after losing 6 seniors, including most of our offensive production, this may actually be the make or break season for Anderson.  Make the NCAAT this year and he can probably survive through next year's rebuild ... But fall short this year and he likely doesn't make it to 19/20.

Technically what you are saying is we went 9 years without a good coach. To say it's been 20 is not correct because to say that is to say Nolan was a bad coach. It also says MA was a bad coach to start his tenure here. Your words.

Some of us believe MA hasn't improved much since the start of his tenure and that the past two years is the best we will ever get from him.

18,030 for Ole Miss.  1,200 short of capacity although it was "sold out".  Good crowd for current college basketball. 

18,297 for Mizzou.

15,199 for LSU.  3,000 short of capacity.  But a weeknight so understandable.
