The new Norm?

The last 12 games we have played have been quite exciting and nerve racking.  My first question to everyone would be, is giving 550 yards or more a game acceptable?   Is this the new norm? Some of the games this year and last shouldn't have been that exciting if we had a defense that played better.  I understand that every defense has bad days, but this seems to be the norm!  Is it time in the near future to change defensive coordinator/philosophy?
