Trimble (TRMB) and Idec (IEX), two highly dependable and well-managed companies, both announced significant misses vs. Q3 revenue expectations due to the abrupt late-quarter slowdown in business activity.  This is going to be a very difficult reporting season.

On the other side of the coin, oil broke 90.
