LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff suffered its seventh straight loss of the season as it fell 24-10 against Texas Southern University in the season finale at War Memorial Stadium. The unorthodox game witnessed a total of 13 passes; three passes from the Tigers and ten passes from the Golden Lions.

Tryvarious Cole led UAPB in rushing and receiving yards as he finished with 57 yards on 12 carries and caught two passes for 23 yards while usual starter KeShawn William nursed an injury. UAPB has been hobbled at quarterback as of late so it was forced to start fourth-string quarterback Roger Totten II who managed the game to his best ability but was held to just 39 yards passing all afternoon. However, he rushed for 47 yards on seven carries in the loss.

On the opening drive of the game, UAPB (2-9, 1-6 SWAC) kicker Jamie Gillan buried a 30-yard field goal to give the Golden Lions a 3-0 lead, but Texas Southern answered back with back-to-back touchdown runs to end the first quarter and open the second quarter respectively.

While trailing 14-3 in the first half, big bruiser running back Dante McDonald scored the only touchdown for the Golden Lions as he trucked over Texas Southern defenders for a 2-yard run which capped a 14-play, 66 yard drive, cutting TSU's lead to just four points at halftime after the point after touchdown from Gillan.

The Tigers (2-8, 2-4 SWAC) outscored the Golden Lions 10-0 in the second half and never looked back thanks to running back Brad Woodard who rushed for a game-high 128 yards and finished with one touchdown.

UAPB kicker Gillan finished the game with a 30-yard field goal.

The Golden Lions finish the season 1-6 in conference play and 2-9 overall.
