Anyone following this "convention" in Saratoga?

I have reason to believe one of our posters  -- LOL, hint, hint, LOL -- was on a panel there on Monday.

All I've picked up of use so far at my computer is that Soledad O'Brien was the keynote speaker, for which she raked in $50,000 or more (that is her beginning rate for such gigs), and that Bradley Weisbord in discussing what racing needs to do to improve is "more celebrity owners," i.e., more Bobby Flays, etc. I only know the latter because it's been retweeted all over the place in the last 24 hours as an example of what's wrong with racing.

One Tweeter that I read said the emphasis seems to be on the "con".

General impression here is that it was a good idea that basically amounts to the meeting of a mutual admiration society without any tangible, lasting effects.

Has anyone actually gone or heard different?
