Maurice Smith says hey.

Hmmm.....

QuoteSaban has made it clear both privately and publicly that he isn't going to let Smith transfer to Georgia or any other SEC school.

QuoteNick Saban is not the first college football coach to oppose what he calls "free agency" for players. He did it again Tuesday at the SEC spring meeting.

Addressing the graduate transfer subject that will generate more formal discussion among league officials this week, Saban objected as expected.

"I've never been in favor of free agency in our league," he said. "Why should a guy leave your team and go play for somebody else and you have to play against them? I don't think that's fair."

QuoteIf you want to leave the University of Alabama's football team, they reportedly view you as garbage.

Alabama cornerback Maurice Smith wrote a letter to Alabama's appeal committee on July 1 detailing how he felt "ostracized" when informing the program of his intentions to transfer to Georgia.

He said his locker was cleaned out, personal belongings were thrown in the trash and he wasn't allowed to use the Crimson Tide athletic facility anymore.

Smith's mother, Samyra, provided his letter to theAtlanta Journal-Constitution, where he talked about his treatment by head coach Nick Saban.

Truth be told Luke Ford has no darn clue what he's going to do.  His "leader" changes like the weather in Arkansas and it seems as if he just says things that sound good at the time.

Is this true?

What, that he plans to schedule an official, sure. Does it mean he'll come, seriously consider us, be committed to Bama/GA before then??? who knows......

Good to hear.  Arguably, we use the TE position more than anyone in the SEC.

IMO the term "arguably" in this context does not even apply. Look at the TE at Arkansas year-in, year-out over the past ten years and there's not even a race for first place.
