Good job, Hogs.

Thanks, Wisco, for the PBP

It is my pleasure.   Gloomy day here in Wisconsin.

trippigs

Aggies starting to make contact again but defense is supporting well. Knight looks comfortable

Knot2brite

So the ice cream stadium hold 6100 people. How quaint. Maybe one of these days they will be able to get a full size stadium

BOOM!   C-Span opens the Hogs' 5th with a home run to right!

4-0, Hogs.

Bonfield continues the fun with a single to right on an 0-1 pitch.

Lefthander warming for the Aggies. We will see him soon I think.

ucahogfan

That HR by Spanberger was impressive.  That is probably the exact location Childress would have wanted Kolek to throw that pitch, but Spanberger probably has 70 power and is a very strong man.

Koch (0-1 with a BB) gets ahead in the count, 2-1, sees it even at 2-2, runs it full, and is now fouling pitches off.   Long at-bat.

Koch singles to left!  Bonfield advances to third.

Chafin will come in to pitch.

While we are breaking, I just want to mention that Arkansas signed a great Men's Track and Field class yesterday including a Paralympic runner from Utah. He is missing both legs and runs on blades.

Game reset while we bask in Kolek's failure:

Hogs on 1st and 3rd, no outs.   Fletcher, .284 and 1-2 on the day, will bat next.

Arkansas leads, 4-0, and has a big opportunity to break open the game for Knight.

Wisco Pig

Fletcher singles through the right side, scoring Bonfield.

5-0, Hogs!

Shaddy fouls out to the catcher for the 1st out of the inning.

Hogs on 1st and 2nd.  Biggers is next.

Enough with the dang small ball.  Jeez.

We are not a small ball team like we used to be.  We have power.  Play to it.

I agree with the announcers. I think he did that on his own. Being right handed against the lefty I don't see DVH calling that.

Knot2brite

Wonder what that little exchange between Biggers the catcher and the ump was about

Biggers, 0-1 with a walk, works the count to 2-2, and then fouls out to the 3B.

Men on 1st and 2nd, two outs.

Easy, are you saying I swung or was it in the strike zone.

Wisco Pig

Arledge, 2-2 with an RBI on the day, is next.   He grounds out to 3B on a 1-1 pitch to end the inning.

5-0, Hogs.

The strike zone seems to have morphed some in the last inning or so.

Yeah but why did the ump get between Biggers and the catcher? Seemed like there was a little jawing going on

I hope that is correct.  That was not a bunting situation.

The hog announcers have said that biggers and the Aggie catcher are best friends.  Raised together I guess.    They just ribbing each other

Biggers was bragging about being moved to 7th in the order and the catcher pointed out he was 2nd in the A&M order.

And more discussion with the catcher than with Biggers. Phil said they know each other.

In the bottom of the fifth for the Aggies:

Schoenvogel (.261)
Blake (.217)
Homan (.237)

Wisco Pig

Schoenvogel falls behind 0-2 and then strikes out swinging to open the Aggies' 5th.

1st and 2nd with no outs is always a bunting situation.

Wisco Pig

The left fielder, Blake (0-1), is next.  He gets ahead 2-1 and then grounds out to Shaddy, 4-3.

Two quick outs.

Wisco Pig

Homan (0-1) quickly finds himself behind 0-2, 1-2, and then strikes out looking.

Man, Knight looks good.

At the end of 5 innings, the Hogs lead, 5-0.
