We could lose the atm series via sweep and still get a top 8 seed from our broader body of work. Winning one at atm would amount to a fan mental security win.

If we win game 1 with Smith, I wouldn't be opposed to letting Tygart and Molina rest.  With Tygart I would probably actually leave it up to him.  I think Molina still has health issues.  Doesn't look right still and if we was injured enough to miss a start two weeks ago I suspect he still isn't healthy.

This is a good thread with some very reasonable ideas, but Stunner might be right.

Just leave it alone.

I will say that if the Hogs host a regional (and surely they will), if the 4th seed does not have an ace at pitcher, then I would not start Hagen until game 2. Tygart always seemed better as a middle reliever or closer.

NCAA softball committee chair Kurt McGuffin addresses entire SEC reaching field, Ole Miss getting in

by: Kaiden Smith

QuoteESPN's Holly Rowe asked Tennessee-Martin athletic director and NCAA Division I Women's Softball Committee chair Kurt McGuffin about Ole Miss and their controversial entry into the NCAA Tournament. Which he explained:

"Ole Miss had some top 25 wins that we consistently looked at throughout the whole field," McGuffin said. "I think that's what put them in. It was tight. The last four. It seemed like we put more teams in this year because we didn't have any bracket busters. But Ole Miss deserved that spot with the quality of wins they had in the top half."

The Rebels make it to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth straight season after receiving their first bid in program history in 2016. With a strong finish to the season making up for their slow start in conference play and propelling them to the 'Big Dance' once again.

After starting off SEC-play with a 3-14 record, Ole Miss caught their stride to close out the season. Defeating both Auburn and No. 8 ranked Arkansas respectively 2-1 in a pair of series to close out the regular season.

I'm probably the only one thinking it, but i probably wouldn't change anything.

If we get the game one win with Smith I do think about sitting Tygart and Molina this weekend though.

I agree and if we win game 1 with Smith pitching I actually think I would roll Molina and Tygart out there and tell them boys no help is coming for you.  You are going five innings and I don't care if you give up ten runs to get there, I ain't pulling you.  Figure it out.  But that's just what I would do from my recliner.
