maybe that was a good win no?

I know Michigan has struggled early this year but its still a difficult place to play, and the win by SMU should help us in the end

Losing gracefully isn't taught in second-tier programs. See Arkansas, Cincinnati, et al.

Yes that will be made to look better as the season goes on.

Kennedy had some impact when he played but this was on the contrasting styles and Brown's coaching the last several minutes.

Michigan was awful on the offensive end.  8-36 from 3, only 19 2pt attempts.  4 straight losses.

Brown did a great job after Michigan made their run of setting them up in the halfcourt and getting good looks in the paint.  SMU 36 2pt attempts and 4-14 from 3.  Total contrast from Michigan.

It was a good win. Moody Coliseum is one of the tougher places to play in as of late. They have beat some good teams since playing us, and this win on the road just strengthens their resume. They will be a NCAAT team without a doubt when it is all said and done.

I will say, SMU is a much better team now that they have Kennedy back. However, they are going to be a top 50 win, and maybe slide back into the top 25 before selection Selection Sunday.

That win on the road at SMU was big. SMU 62 At Michigan 51. GO HOGS.

Smu has now won 6 games in a row. the Hogs beat a very good team on the road. and that win is going to be big.

I am always ready for Hog Ball!

The football season has no bearing on my excitement for basketball season to begin.

I know I'm in the minority, but I rank Hog basketball above Hog football every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Has a lot to do with the era in which I grew up, but for me personally there is just nothing better than watching the Hogs run up and down the court!
Woo Pig Sooiee!  Can't wait for the season to tip off.  I'm hoping for a much more competitive team this season.

UCONN looks beatable,  and if SMU can get an upset over them in AAC play, that'd also be a great help.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Cincy and Memphis look down as well.  Tulsa hasn't beaten a top 100 team and Temple's best win was over American.  This may be SMU's to win.

Can't throw that score in people's face if you are gonna discount South Carolina demolishing Clemson.

It was a good win at Smu, but that Clemson loss could hurt us too.

If you notice, south carolina won at home. Clemson beat 2 other SEC teams at their place. And yes, it does make a difference

It doesn't make a difference when it doesn't fit your agenda.

Winthrop beat Clemson, Clemson beat Auburn, Auburn beat Winthrop.

What does it all mean?

I'll make a prediction: If BCG were to get the Tennessee job, Calipari will be fired from UK within 2 years because from the 2013-2014 season on, Tennessee will own the SEC East until BCG moves on or retires.

In terms of tournament resume, as long as SMU continues to play well they will win a lot of games in AAC and our win should greatly outweigh our Clemson loss.  And with the Dayton suspensions, this may be all we can hold onto from the non conference.

The other conversation would be how well the Hogs played at SMU, how well SMU played, the matchups in terms of style and strengths, Kennedy not playing etc.  In other words, the game itself.

I wouldn't go that far. They are inconsistent, but are not absolutely terrible. It still does not change the fact that SMU is a good win for us.

Michigan has 2 terrible losses, but still have wins over Oregon, Syracuse, and a 5 point loss to Nova so they clearly have the talent to beat quality teams.

And that will be enough.   To your corners.
