The son of Alabama wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator Mike Locksley was killed Sunday night in Maryland

Meiko Locksley was shot around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday and died overnight at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center

QuotePolice don't have any suspects and aren't aware of any potential motives at this time, according to reports.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike, (his wife) Ms. Kia and the entire Locksley family over this tragedy," Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said. "We'll do everything we can to support Mike and his family in this time of tragedy."

Mike Locksley is entering his second year as the Alabama staff after spending last year as an offensive analyst.

The 47-year old Locksley, a Washington, D.C. native, previously served as the offensive coordinator and as an interim head coach at Maryland after serving as the head coach at New Mexico (2009-11), as the offensive coordinator at Illinois (2005-08) and as an assistant at other places such as Florida.
