  • according to the Ringer   Paul George traded to Oklahoma for Sabonis and Oladipo.  24 hours ago we were talking about if Harden and Paul was the best backcourt now it maybe Westbrook and George.  In the last few minutes monster NBA trades.

  • Minnesota picking up Rondo to replace Rubio would be a very Minnesota thing to do.

  • Pierce isn't a guard;  he thrives when he plays small ball 4, over even his outstanding performance as a 3.

Not really.   No need to replace one terrible shooting point guard with another.

  • I agree    they need a PG who can also shoot some to at least keep defenses honest   dont know who a PG Pierce would be

    Pierce?

Teague is a nice pick up for the wolves.

That's the joke. Minnesota, historically, doesn't make good decisions. I wasn't seriousl.

  • Having watched Teague for many years, he runs an offense as well as anybody.  He's streaky shooting but is clutch at the FT line late in the games.  Given Minnesota's scoring talent, he should be a tremendous asset at the offensive end.  However, his defensive intensity is often lacking.  He's not the most competitive guy on the court.  If Minnesota was looking to improve their D with Butler, taking Teague is a step back unless Thibodeau can light a fire under him.  He can defend when he wants to and will get a pick for a layup once or twice a game.

  • The Pacers just died before our very eyes. Rumors are out there that they had better offers, but simply didn't want to trade George to the east. That trade is so bad it's ridiculous. Someone should be fired.

They are replacing Rubio with Teague, which is an upgrade regardless of Teague's defense. If he performs in Minnesota like he did a season ago in Atlanta with talent around him, then Minnesota will be getting a very good player.

Millsap is meeting with the Twolves today, too. Landing Millsap to go with Butler and Teague will likely make the Timberwolves the 2nd best team in the West, and probably 3rd best team in the NBA. They already had the 6th best odds in the NBA, 4th best in the West after adding Butler. Teague and Millsap would probably jump them 2-3 spots. I have been a Twolves fan my entire life. Usually I follow that up with "unfortunately," but exciting times are ahead.

Bleh.  Paul George.   I was having a discussion on another board about whether or not the Celtics should 1-day Pierce.   Its what I get for talking basketball at 1am after about 8 koobeers.

  • 76ers get JJ Reddick  and Millsap is down to Wolves and Denver.  What is Boston doing (answer is nothing)  all those draft picks and 5 guards and cash to be traded and so far nothing.  Is it possible Clippers will trade Jordan now that they have lost Paul and Reddick??  Just to start all over??

I'm with you man, been a Wolves fan since the Marbury/Garnett days. I was a teenager back then and didn't really have a team and when they got those 2 I decided that's gonna be my team. They've been my team ever since. There's been so many disappointing offseasons and drafts, too many to start listing the moves that made me sick.

After all these down years tho we are finally looking like a guaranteed playoff team and maybe even a legit contender if we keep making the right moves. I keep checking every hour or so all day to see if there's a deal with Millsap yet lol the only thing is I wish we could have gotten a little more from Utah in the Rubio deal. I'm sure creating cap space was a big part of the deal tho. I would have loved to have gotten Rodney Hood from them in that deal, a high volume long range shooter that could have spelled both Wiggins and Butler. Hard to complain much tho after the past week and a half

Some nights Teague will be the best offensive player on the court.  On other nights you will be irritated that he has disappeared on O and is standing around looking like a spectator on defense.  He's had frequent ankle problems, which may have something to do with that.  He rarely makes a negative play. I like Teague.

Millsap is an outstanding two-way player.  He deserves a max contract for next year at least. He will upgrade any team's D.  The problem is that he will turn 33 during the season.  Actually my fantasy was to pair Millsap with Butler and Schroeder in ATL.  I'd prefer to keep him, but Father Time is undefeated.  Minnesota will become my Western Conference team if he signs with them.

Its a Plan C acquisition, but I guess it'll have to do.

Boston is waiting for Lebron to retire or go west, and I don't blame theme. Why rush into a bad deal. They will probably get Hayward, and the rest of the East got worse. Cleveland also got another year older.

Considering the Twolves lead the league in blown 2nd half leads, getting a veteran like Taj isn't the worst thing that could have been done. He is no Millsap, but he is also not as expensive and still valuable to a locker room. Hopefully they can find someone to dump Aldrich's salary to create more space. They do not feel Tyus is ready to play a significant role, so I assume a backup PG will be signed in the coming days/weeks.

They'll likely end up packaging the pick they got for Rubio with Aldrich to get some more flexibility.

Taj isn't a bad pick up, he's just not what you hope for, in terms of making another splash move
