Bama didn't make those turnovers in a vacuum.  McCarron had been sacked 10 times all season and OU sacked him 7.

I'm on record that OU played a great game. That doesn't explain why Bama coaches didn't run Sweeps OR draws or short passes, ETC. There are ways to counteract a rush.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

Yeldon's fumble definitely wasn't caused by OU.  I guess you can give them credit for picking it up.

McCarron's first int was a poor decision thrown into triple coverage.

The last two Bama turnovers was OU making plays.  McCarron did throw late off is back foot on his second int.  But the OU db was sitting on the throw as well.

Yeldon's fumble and the missed FG ended up being huge.

It was an extremely odd offensive plan that didn't even resemble Bama for much of it.  Where were the screens to the backs?  They have very good wr's.  But Bama's offense should always go through the backs and not the qb.  They put the game on McCarron.  You can't ask an oline who is used to firing off to run block and the passing game coming off of play action to suddenly change to a pass blocking oline backing up in protection.  Bad plan by Bama.

The QB throwing off a back foot in bounds is a mistake. Should have thrown OOB or swallowed the ball. The QB throwing into triple coverage is a mistake. The rush may have attributed but still poor decisions uncharacteristically from Bama's QB.

Stoops was right, and he proved it on the field.BiG 12 OU was just better than SEC power Bama. OU kick Bama's butt.

No doubt you'd feel the same way if that was Arkansas the SEC's rep in that bowl.

Gimme a break.  You make Guv quite tolerable.

Stoops argument was that the bottom of the SEC is no better than the bottom feeders of any other conference.

His comeuppance will be next year when Beilema's freshmen and sophomores beat his overhyped but once again underperforming Sooners in the Autozone Liberty Bowl.

Just heard him on Cowherd.  He's still loaded for bear about this subject.

He never said the SEC as a whole was overrated.  He said it was top heavy and their bottom half and especially bottom third was just as bad as the bottom half of any other conference.

What Stoops actually did was beat the third best Alabama team in the last three years by 14 after Bama made 5 turnovers.  He won, but it wasn't a true butt kicking.  Bama scored 31 points.  But on Hogville posters can call anything they want a butt kicking without blushing and apologizing.

Congrats to OU.  Bob finally got 'em one.  OU outplayed and outcoached Bama.  They deserved to win.

If that young QB for the Sooners performs this well next year you won't be seeing the Sooners in the Liberty Bowl - you'll be seeing them in the playoffs.
Oklahoma looked pretty darn good last night, in fact they looked great - not many offenses can make the Bama D look bad. Plus you had to be impressed with the Sooners speed and aggressiveness on Defense.

Bottom half of SEC that were bowl eligible did pretty well this year.

Also confident Coach Stoops could care less if he really applied himself.

Stoops has more BCS appearances than any other coach (9 in 15 years) but he is also 4-5 in those games and 1-3 in the BCS NCG over that time.
So Fiesta Bowl champs, Sugar Bowl champs, Rose Bowl champs, and Orange Bowl champs.  Oh, I forgot, also National Champs.  Only coach to run the table on all the BCS bowls.  I went to my first hog game back in 1957 and I'm still waiting for even a BCS Bowl win.  Not taking up for Stoops as I don't like anything OU but, and not calling you out, but I just don't understand hog fans taking shots at a program like that.

It's possible Bama had already checked out prior to their bowl game last year.

I'm sure you'll hear the same thing from OU fans today-- but its only valid as an excuse, to them, if OU does it.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I wonder if Bob Stoops will use his press conference after game to blast the SEC.

Good question for gamblers out there, has any team ever been favored in all 13 games and lost five times? Because Oklahoma just might do it.

He might coach better if he worried more about his team and less about the SEC........ 8)
