On the Michigan Rivals board it is being reported that Kirk Ferentz has been offered and has accepted the head coaching position at Michigan.

CONFIRMED: Kirk Ferentz is your next coach....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to a source with the Iowa Athletic Department. Kirk Ferentz has been offered and accepted the Michigan position.

There was a meeting between Gary Barta (Iowa A.D.) and Ferentz earlier this week. Barta let it be known that he wanted Ferentz to make changes with the Offensive Coordinator and would pressure the Defensive Coordinator to retire. Ferentz refused and held firm.

Contact was then made between Michigan, Iowa and Ferentz's agent. Offer was made this morning and accepted. This will be announced on Monday at a press conference.

You think yesterday's game had a bearing on this?

Doubt it, but who really knows. It was being reported earlier in the week that a powerful group of Michigan people were really pushing for Ferentz.

Wow. So how do you feel about Miles coming back TT? I am beginning to believe he is almost as big an underacheiver as Nutt. Let's face it he has top five recruiting every year. Time will tell about his coaching ability, but I am a bit skeptical based on yesterdays playcalling.
Sittin in the morning sun, I'll be sittin here when evening comes.

Maybe Michigan wasn't impressed with Miles's inability to even pronounce the names of his competition. Especially since it may have been the motivation needed to beat his behind.
I feel like $100

He's a pretty damn good coach. I mean, talk about Arkansas.. at least we are next to texas and Louisiana. he is in IOWA, and brought in some damn good recruiting classes.

the man can coach.

Wow.

Ferentz is terrible;  his Iowa teams started out strong, but have lost some real head scratchers the past few years.

This could be the end of having to hear about Michigan week in and week out :)

Come home Ryan!

Mixed emotions. As long as Pellini goes to Nebraska I have no problem with Les coming back. Most LSU fans want Pellini out of town fast. It was reported this morning that Nebraska has contacted Pellini.

Lots of information coming fast and furious.

Have said many times, when lining up the SEC head coaches in groups of 3, Miles is in the third group and Nutt in the fourth.  Miles shouldn't be at LSU or Michigan if either is wanting a great coach.

That is a really uninformed comment, KF is an excellent coach, he worked wonders at a program like Iowa.  With the talent he gets at Michigan, he will win a MNC soon.  Iowa is a small state without a lot of athletes.  They have an unrealistic fan base and they are reaping what they deserve.

The man's lost to Western Michigan, his last 2 against Indiana,  2 of 3 to both Northwestern and Iowa State, and both of his last two lower tier bowls.

I agree, if Ferentz does in fact go to Ann Arbor.  He has done little at Iowa other than signing a huge contract.

No, it is a  *highly* informed comment.

Yeah;  I am simply astonished that Michigan aimed so very low with this hire.

So what is Miles going to do?  I can't imagine that the average crazy LSU fan is too pleased with his performance yesterday.  They were talking about getting Spurrier earlier this week.

And in the 10th year, the Razorback faithful finally fired Houston Dale Nutt! Preach this, brotha!

Let's hope this is true;  Iowa is another job that Nutt would be perfect for taking.

Slightly off topic, I hate OSU, Meechigan, Penn St, etc..  but the dead schembechlers are awesome.  I like them only because of their hatred for Meechigan.

Well, if what is being said on the Michigan board is true then Miles will stay on at LSU. Like I said in an earlier post, most are far more upset with Pellini than Miles.

Our University President is John Lombardi. Lombardi hired Spurrier and Donovan at UF. It was reported that Spurrier had dinner with Lombardi 2 weeks ago in Baton Rouge. It was being speculated that Spurrier was LSU's number one target if Miles left for Michigan. Word is that Greg Schiano of Rutgers was number 2.

This makes Miles look stupid. He dodged questions about going to Michigan instead of just coming right out and saying he was staying at LSU, which had to be a distraction, and now they hire another coach.

They have to be.  He just beat LoSerU.  He runs the antiquated big 10 style offense.  I'm sure he loves that helmet brotha.

I disagree. Miles has not been offered the Michigan job. It was widely felt that Miles really wanted the Michigan job and would go if offered. The man can't come out and say he is staying at LSU if he has a possibility of going back to his Alma Mater. Now that would really look poor if he said he was staying and then was offered the job and took it. I, as well, as most LSU fans, felt he handled the situation as well as he could.
