Did you hear Jake Hatley on Sports Rap tonight after the game? He said that anyone who was calling for Nutt to leave is just a hater and not a true Razorback fan?!!!

The guy was that was hosting tonight (it wasn't Arnell) handed Haltey his @$$ and said something about Hatley being a whiner. Then said he wasn't going to let a bunch of drunks who have been listening for 10 minutes call everyone else out for how they feel! I was dying, wishing I could get a signal to call in and tell him "amen!"

Then they went to commercial break and when they came back the host didn't say anything else much, he just kept turning it over to Hately and the 2Live Crew to talk about their nacho eating contest.

It was almost like the host was saying "OK you want to talk, go ahead, but the more you talk the dumber you sound!"

Good job new guy, Hatley is a self-important ego-maniac
Think about the great college coaches with quality wins... Jimmy Johnson, Pop Paterno, Lou Holtz, Bear Bryant, and others. Now, have you ever seen one of them scream so much incoherent crap in a post-game interview? Has one of them ever called out an individual ESPN announcer or local sportscaster on national television? While you are thinking about it and recall if one of them ever stole a megaphone from the cheerleaders and danced like a girl after a big win. NO, I remember those guys as people who won with class!

HEY HDN: Class is something more than you tell the players to skip!!!

This seems as good a time as any for a first post.

I've gotten sick during the Nutt years of the team too often folding at critical moments, never making the big plays, and never pulling off the big wins when it counted most.  I was glad before the game that Nutt was going.  I am glad if he goes now, both because of lackluster on-field performances and inexcusable conduct over the past year.

That said, when Casey threw that block, I jumped up out of my chair screaming.  When Hillis went up the gut for 70, I yelled at the top of my lungs.  I was euphoric when Dick hit Peyton for 11 on 4th and 10.  I was about to have a heart attack when Flynn threw it in the endzone that last time, and ran outside screaming "WE WON IT!" like a retarded 4-year-old with my buddies after it got picked.

In other words, I enjoyed the game.  More than I have in a long time.  Maybe ever.

And the fact that I enjoyed it doesn't make any difference as to whether or not Nutt gets fired.

And saying that enjoying a victory means I've somehow enables Nutt to stay is absurd and a logical disconnect.

Couldn't say it better myself.  I was the guy you heard screaming a few blocks over, right before I called my vet who is a huge LSU booster to rub it in.  And I despise the Dork with a passion and hope he is gone, gone, gone.  We all, hog fans one and all, deserve better on the field and off.
If you never streaked down Sorority Row, caught the Bud Man twice in one night, or threw a pitcher of beer under the table when ABC came into the Hog Trough . . . you're just a wannabe.

All of you celebrating this victory, you are also now officially Nutt-huggers.  You are supporting Dale and his campaign to return next season.

You are also celebrating a victory over a depleted LSU team and one that means absolutely nothing.  Another moral victory.  No championships.  Not even a decent bowl game.  NADA.

He will not leave and Long will not fire him after this win.

Enjoy another season of the Hootendale Nutterbacks.  The Razorbacks didn't exist this season and they won't again next.

I find myself often in agreement with NotShavin, but not on this.  Here's why...

I have mourned after losses in the past and have felt 100% thru-and-thru apathy this year against UT and Auburn.  I want HDN gone.  Gone.  Like, welcome to Baylor gone.

But to not be excited after a win AT #1 LSU is asking too much.  Granted, you won't find me bouncing off the walls simply because DMW was on the sidelines, but I've got to be excited for the players.  For those Razorback players, I am excited.  For the conundrum this has probably put the head coaching situation into, my stomach turns.  But honestly, did any of us REALLY expect Hootie to go away quietly?  The shyster can circle the wagons with the best of them.

So I will be excited about this win, but in no way will I forget the shaking of my head as I forced myself to endure watching both the Tennessee debacle and the complete display of ineptitude against Auburn.  Anyone forgetting those moments this year, and instead choosing only to think of today's victory, IS missing the point, IMHO.  But to dismiss what the players did today would be wrong.

Our performance today probably sets up McFadden to become the first Hog EVER to win the Heisman.  It also gets us in a respectable bowl instead of the Toilet Bowl.  If you want to call me a hugger for enjoying one of the biggest Razorback wins ever, go ahead.  Maybe this momentum will help Nutt find work somewhere else.

The game meant something to us!! By far the most exciting win in memory. I would say it meant something (just ask LSU, WV, & OSU). I am also glad we did salvage a Cotton Bowl bid in what should be a very entertaining game. What about DMAC? This game may have given him the Heisman. But it meant nothing???

Nutt is most likely gone either way, but I will tell you the more I see many of these "big name" Coaches struggle makes me very nervous about our new Coach, if it does come to that.

I shudder to think how many smites you got off of that one post. I disagree with your saying this wasn't a quality win today. It was a great win.

However, I understand your frustration. It seems like very season, Nutt manages to do just enough to keep his job. Nutt does his usual screwing around, gets his back up against the wall and the Hogs manage to pull off that "miracle" win that causes people to rally around a coach with a pitiful 4-4 record in the SEC.

It's rather like watching "Groundhog Day" (Bill Murray's finest film, by the way). The same darned thing keeps happening over and over again. I keep hoping people will realize what Nutt's average SEC conference record is and come to understand that he's just not a very good coach.

However, watch people whoop it up over this LSU win causes me to doubt that will happen anytime soon.

I know. A great, great, great win!!! But how the hello did we lose to Kentucky, Alabama, and Auburn?? The head man did not have us ready to play. If we can focus like we did today on a consistant basis, we easily win two out of those three maybe all. That's what I was wondering while watching the games against both South Carolina and LSU. Why is Nutt so painfully inconsistent? Does he have to be under the threat of being fired to actually put together four solid quarters of football?

Yeah, I guess beating the #1 team in the nation is the "worst thing" that could happen in Razorback football.  I am celebrating.  I think you would be a fool not to.

It's ok, you don't get it.  Many don't.

Enjoy your "great upsets".  I'll still be here hoping for a coach AND players that can bring us championships.
