The SEC has 8!!!!!!! of the richest programs in the [CENSORED] country according to Forbes. Tell Schaefwater to STFU with the poor mouthing. BTW Hogs have the lands' 15th richest program, ahead of A&M and Nebraska.

Ok, so why is Fayetteville out of $$ again?

Each Razorback home game results in $7.3 million of incremental spending throughout the county.

Two minor notes;  Arkansas is extremely profitable, when it comes to football-- a large segment of that $$ goes to fund Title IX requirements, like many other places.     On the downside, Arkansas has never shown the willingness to actually spend that revenue to improve the product on the field-- and until that commitment is made, it doesn't matter how much money we make, if we won't spend it.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

They are out of money because they are having to pay 10 cents for each text message sent to and from Nutt's phone!!!

There is no reason we shouldn't always be in the top 15 and have an upper tier program.

Actually, even if Nutt sends 10000 text messages a month, that's only 1000 bucks a month, and 12000 a year.  Nutt's texts must be worth like 100 bucks each...so that's why his salary is so high...I knew it couldn't be his coaching...

When you come back up for air, know this. The Razorback Nation!! and the kids made that happen. If coach Nutt stays however, WE can take it away. The players are here for 4-5 years, a coach 5-10, but THE RAZORBACK NATION will be here for a lifetime!

Two interesting points that I noticed that Arkansas was a little ahead of the curve with the addition of luxury boxes and club seating as several of these teams are doing this/just did it.

Also as far as the SEC goes here is who is included:
3- Georgia
5- Florida
6- LSU
7- Tennessee
8- Auburn
9- Alabama
12- South Carolina
15- Arkansas ($53M)

This is shows how superior the SEC is in terms of money and also might help support JFB's comment on how Arkansas is 8th in the SEC in potential (i.e.$$$$), so that comment doesn't look as far off base as it did when he originally said it.

Sure we may be down in the rankings of worth in the SEC, but look where we are on a national level.  There is no reason why we can't hire a nationally recognized, proven winner, head coach. There is no reason why we can't go out and recruit the best athletes in this state and sign them. There is no reason, other than LSU, why we can't recruit great athletes from our bordering states of TX and OK and sign them.

We've signed some of them from our state and TX,OK etc. but not near enough.  The holes began forming in the fence back in 2000 and have grown bigger. Its time to mend.

Look at who is ranked 14th in value.  Just ahead of Arkansas...

"University of Southern California, Trojans
Value: $53 million
Profit: $13 million
Conference: Pac 10

Plus the cost of living is quite a bit higher in CA than here, hence our $53 million is in reality more.

um, have any of you "fire Nutt" types noticed that on the basis Forbes used for these ranking we finished ahead of just Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi and Mississippi State in the SEC? LOL. So just how far above these ranking do you expect Nutt to perform?

I know, Gus would have us beating everyone, but for the sake of argument, let's pretend you people are capable of being rational for a moment and tell me how many of the teams above us in these rankings you think we should out perform in the long run in order to meet your oh-so-self-serving standards.

Here's a little hint before you answer my question, how many of the SEC teams ranked above us do you think have better overall won/loss records than Arkansas during Nutt's years here?

Go look it up and then come back and tell me Nutt has underachieved.

So if its all about money then the 7 programs ranked higher than us should finish higher than us. So we should be the 8th best team in the conference. so what's everyone complaining about? you just proved the freaking point that we don't have as much as the other schools.

The point is that we have money to buy a real "winner and fighter" instead of a pretender "winner and fighter" but we don't spend the money on them.

The other point is that we aren't "Po L'il ole Arkiesaw' we are the Arkansas Razorbacks, the 15th most valuable program in the entire Nation.  We should be competing like we are!

read more, post less. this thread is not about nutt's record. its about revenue. our revenue is is very competitive with the top programs in the country. this forbes list blows the "poor little ole arkansas" argument out of the water. why do other teams with similar revenue have better records than us?

Something to keep in mind.  I agree with your post and all but when we look for a coach this year we may be competing with up 3 or more schools that are ahead of us on the list (Michigan, LSU, Auburn) and there are a couple more that are on the list right around us (A&M, Nebraska).  So there will be a lot of competition it's up to the people with the deep pockets to dig deep.

But look at that list and note that all of them have premium head coaches except Arkansas.  Alabama, near the bottom of that 8 team list, just hired and is paying the most for their new coach.

The SEC has 8!!!!!!! of the richest programs in the [CENSORED] country according to Forbes. Tell Schaefwater to STFU with the poor mouthing. BTW Hogs have the lands' 15th richest program, ahead of A&M and Nebraska.

the thing is, if Coach Nutt wasn't here the past few years we would not have even made this list most likely

Yeah right, pass the crack pipe please !

um, have any of you "fire Nutt" types noticed that on the basis Forbes used for these ranking we finished ahead of just Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi and Mississippi State in the SEC?

Go look it up and then come back and tell me Nutt has underachieved.

and imagine your e-mail address is hidden, you just keep getting smarter and smarter about e-mail stuff don't ya Teresa !
