Quote from: Jlamiddleton3 on March 05, 2024, 11:12:57 pmAnyone have any REAL info on Taliah? Came back from injury, just getting in the groove again, then GONE! "Family emergency"  Been gone this time about 3 weeks and it's like a taboo subject. Folks keep saying she is transferring, but with all the other players that left we were told up front that they were leaving the team. Best player we have had since Dungee and she is gone
March 19: I was pretty sure when she left that she was GONE Seen it before. I got roasted for saying it then. And now Saylor!! I don't get that one at ALL! What in the WORLD is going on? We won't even have enough players for that wnit thing! Sounds like we need to stay home and put out the fire. Something is BAD wrong!

Quote from: mckinneyhog5 on Yesterday at 03:53:16 pmI sometimes wish Miss would leave so all the so called Bball commentators would get their wish and put us back to the MA days of one and done in the tourney.

Why is MA the poster child for all negativity? He wasn't the worst coach we ever had. The poor guy brought us from the dead to make it at least attractive enough for a coach to come to the U of A. Are we one and done this year?

Quote from: redleg on Yesterday at 12:25:08 pmSo no one knows who could be the selfish malcontents?

- Menifield, Harris, and Pinion are already in the portal.
- Mitchell, Davenport, Graham, Lawson, and Ellis are out of eligibility, so they are gone too.

- That leaves Davis, Brazile, Blocker, Fall, Mark, and Battle.

* Brazile - I am over this guy...6'10" and he rarely goes inside, he runs down court and immediately goes to the wing at the 3-point line. Big disappointment. I really thought we had stolen one from Mizzou, but I guess they got the last-laugh on that. Glad we beat them twice this season.
* Davis - I am over him too. He's a senior, time to move on. At least that way you won't have to "step away" from the team at some point in the season. Go overseas, or something. Just move on.
* Blocker - He was vastly under-used this season, fingers crossed that he comes back and develops into a great PG.
* Fall - He needs to put on some weight, BIG-time. Being 6'11" and 200 lbs isn't going to cut it, unless he can develop a 3-point shot and hit it at least 33-35% of the time so he can move from Center to PF. A 200 lbs center is going to get pushed around all over the court, and that doesn't do anyone any good.
* Mark & Battle - Both are great scorers and leaders who could be the focul points of next year's team, IF they will play Team-Basketball. If not, then they need to move on too.

Sounds like I wrote this myself and I couldn't concur more.
Hell I wish I could like it 5 times.

Quote from: MB Hog on Yesterday at 02:34:16 pmAlabama is the best college football job in the world, yet Nick Saban can't stand the way NIL is being handled.  Saying one job is better than the other partially because they give more money to NIL is a short-term factor.  NIL will eventually become regulated (my guess is within the next two years).  At that point, no athlete will be paid unrealistic amounts of money by these collectives, and this will no longer be a factor in how good a particular coaching job is.

Your guess.

You don't know how short or long term this NIL thing is. In the interim, it puts coaches in a perilous position at the level Muss is at to have that kind of NIL uncertainty. I don't venture to guess Musselman wants to coach even one more season with an uncertain commitment to NIL when he can go to a comparable program with more NIL dedication.

Here's the classic pic of Len Dawson, Chief's quarterback, in the locker room at halftime of Super Bowl 3.

There you go.

More common than you would think. Almost wild by today's standards.

Somehow pay to play cheapens more things than you can count.

So....let me get this straight.

You don't understand why it is being discussed that Muss might be looking at other jobs......and you also don't think an extension is in order?

So you think we are going to go into the season with a coach whose contract will be expiring after the next season?

You need to understand that he's either signing an extension or he's leaving. There's no staying but not extending the contract. The fact that we don't have a contract extension already (meaning, if he was really all-in on staying with Arkansas, he'd already have signed an extension probably during the season) just gives air to the notion that he might have a wandering eye.

Quote from: Jim Harris on Yesterday at 04:42:02 pmHe doesn't believe in the mid-range shot. Analytically it is the worst shot to him. To our men's coach, he'd love more of it, at least up until this year. Speaking of, what happened to Devo's midrange shot? Did he concede it to Mark?

Mike may not have believed in the midrange, but Chelsea and Plum did, its part of what made them effective, being so multi-dimensional, which for the most part without a player like those to, his offense wont work.  Scott was just too young yet and Mike disillusioned too many players these last two years that could have helped fill some of the gaps on offense and defense.  I hope Dauda stays.  I think Johnson and Keats will, the rest I dont know, now that the three I was fairly certain of are already in the portal.  Sasha may retire or she might not be interested in coming back either.  I think she still has some basketball in her, just not here.

While this is true, we love taking our daughter. It is a great atmosphere for families with kids.
