A day after calling out Tennessee, Arizona State AD's football plans go up in flames

QuoteFor all the chaos and drama that surrounded the Tennessee search for a new head football coach, Volunteers fans, donors and Twitter users everywhere are probably saying something along the lines of, 'at least we're not Arizona State.'

Because at Arizona State, athletic director Ray Anderson's plans for his football program are not going well. And they weren't the most logical to begin with. And his comments blasting the Tennessee administration and new AD Phillip Fulmer for their own troubles in a coaching search are not helping his case either.

Arizona State: -fired Todd Graham at a $12 million buyout -replaced him with Herm Edwards, who hadn't coached since '08 -wanted to keep both coordinators -lost the defensive coordinator on Edwards' first Tuesday -and lost the OC on his first Friday

Arizona State AD Ray Anderson called Phillip Fulmer a "pariah" and Tennessee's athletic department a "cluster."

But you could *easily* argue Tennessee had a better coach search than ASU did. Just look how they ended up:
