WNML's Jimmy Hyams reported Friday that Wells was arrested in Knoxville on National Signing Day last year, just hours after the Vols celebrated signing the nation's No. 14 recruiting class

Hyams cited a police report from the incident

Wells later pleaded guilty on a lesser charge

In an effort to lay indisputable claim to the famous "Phil Fulmer Cup", named for its long time former player and HC, the University of Tennessee has announced today that henceforth any staff or athletic department member arrested and/or convicted of either a misdemeanor or felony will be awarded additional points toward the award. Guidelines are as such: All offenses charged but not resulting in conviction will result in 500 points (misdemeanor)/1,000 points for felonies. All such arrests resulting in actual conviction(s) will be awarded double the above levels; guilty verdicts leading in jail/prison time will mean triple points.
