Kentucky-Ole Miss predictions. Expect another close game

QuoteAlready bowl eligible, Kentucky football looks to start another winning streak against Ole Miss in a Week 10 game.

The Wildcats (6-2, 3-2 SEC) host the Rebels (3-5, 1-4 SEC)...

I could see a last-minute field goal deciding this one. Ole Miss hasn't won a road game this season and the Rebels' only SEC win came against Vanderbilt, but don't expect any kind of blowout. Kentucky 31, Ole Miss 30.

Kyle Tucker:  The Rebels have given up at least 35 points in five straight games, which should be a welcome sight for a Kentucky offense that might be starting to wake up. Kentucky 34, Ole Miss 28.

How Kentucky graded out [sic] in loss to Ole Miss at Kroger?

QuoteLEXINGTON, Ky. — Another game for Kentucky, another game decided in the final seconds. The Wildcats came out on the losing side of a 37-34 result against Ole Miss on Saturday at Kroger Field.

Kentucky had a chance to go 7-2 and stay alive in the SEC East race, but instead Ole Miss pulled off the upset. Close games had often swung in Kentucky's favor this season, but the Cats couldn't overcome their defensive deficiencies on Saturday night.

"Back is against the wall every game in this job, and that's the way it is," Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said after the loss. "Every game is important."

Defense: D-minus

Ole Miss receiver D.K. Metcalf caught the game-winning touchdown on a fade route in the back corner of the end zone, but that was hardly the worst play of the game for Kentucky's defense. The secondary was burnt over and over again and there doesn't seem to be an answer for its pass-defense woes.

Rebels quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, who was making just his second start, shredded Kentucky, going 31-for-40 passing for 382 yards and 4 touchdowns. The ball to Metcalf was a beauty and Ta'amu was slinging it all night long.
