Going to send my parents on a getaway weekend for their anniversary. what are some of the nice cabins in arkansas? i need them to be close to outdoorsy stuff like hiking etc. Thanks in advance! I have looked at Mt. Magazine. The cabins look nice but they are pretty expensive for a night even in october.

Lake Catherine State Park is nice. Newer and rustic cabins, couple of hiking trails, close to Hot Springs. On the way to Hot Springs you go right past a trout fishing spot and Entergy Park, which has several nice hiking/walking trails.

There are cabins on Petit Jean that are nice and right on the hiking trails.  I don't remember if they are run by the same folks that run Mather Lodge but that might be a good place to start.

Brand new cabins at the Lake Fort Smith park. It sits right on the OHT as well.

Redbud Valley Resort in Eureka Springs has great cabins and it is exotically beautiful there in the fall....

Just got back from the Mt. Magazine Lodge and was impressed.  Beautiful views, hiking trails if that's your thing, food is good, fairly easy to get to (125 miles from Fayetteville) and fairly new and not overly expensive.
I need to be more like my dog...if you can't fight it, screw it, or eat it, then piss on it.

Boyle Park.

It has a fairly large porta potty you can sleep in and if you leave the door cracked at night you can watch the crack whores scuffle by like roaches and you may get to see a few shootings.

And it's free.
I ain't saying you babysitting, but my kids are all over your couch.
