I noticed that no player wanted to follow Mussleman to Arkansas or USC after his departure.

Monday Morning Quarterback / Re: Chamblee to SMU

Quote from: bennyl08 on Yesterday at 11:07:55 pm1. No you didn't. You literally never specified anything resembling 'in present form', and also yeah, they've lost to many of those teams quite recently.

2. You are aware that SMU went 0-3 against any power conference schools last year right? That includes a 5-7 BC and a 5-7 TCU... They lost those games by an average of 13 ppg. Yeah, good luck playing 9 games like that or better moving forward... And like you said, losing badly to 5-7 and 7-6 teams in the weakest 'power' conferences is SMU's BEST season in nearly 40 years.

3. Chamblee isn't going to a better team.

4. ACC is a vastly weaker conference than the PAC was 2 years ago and likely won't exist in 2 years time either. Heck, the ACC came in 4th, barely above the B12 (again, where they lost badly to a 5-7 TCU team) in draft picks this past draft. Powerful relative to the FCS? Sure. Relative to the PAC, B1G, or SEC last season? No. Relative to either conference next season? Not a chance.

5. True, but 2024 onwards, which is the season that Chamblee is stepping down for, that step is turning into a small jump. Facing a 20% decrease in talent is a step down. The NFL talent he's facing next year will be halved (albeit, still way more than that "top 25" SMU team this year faced who again, couldn't beat any power schools, not even two schools that combined for a losing record.

Brain power Benny you seem to lack it what would 2015 SMU have to do with today's SMU? It doesn't. You are aware arkansas went 4-8  last year and over the last 2 years have had trouble beating much anyone P4 or G5 for that matter. G5 teams aren't supposed to beat P4 teams so I'd say SMU has done well for itself.

Or less confident in the visitor???

My guess is that Cal would not have wanted to use a player in the dire way we used KB. We were searching for some answers on offense. He stepped up and drove drove drove to the basket and scored many pts at the ft line. my guess is that Cal would not have him in that roll when we now have way more fire power. Thus Khalif would not be near the stud he was this past season. It is good that he finds another home. Best wishes to him.

Guess I'm the only one who didn't want him back. Played way too out of control and took too many stupid shots for my taste.

Quote from: RebelliousHog on April 29, 2024, 09:54:22 amI guess I'm not good with hypotheticals.  I mean we ARE playing TAMU, so what difference does it make? And, as some have said, polls are meaningless. Get in the top 8 and play at home.

It's like saying, "If we had not dropped the bombs on Japan, would we still be fighting in the Pacific"?  No one knows because we DID drop the bombs on Japan.
No reason for you to waste our time with your non post on the question.
