Split today's games. We opened with a come-from-behind win over New Mexico. We fell behind 3-0 early on, and then crawled back in the late innings to tie it up. Went to extra innings using the runner-on-second tie break method. UNM loaded the bases on us but Moll worked out of it, and then we manufactured a run in the B8 without hitting the ball out of the infield. Good win. Moll was Moll - the trouble she got in was mostly of her own doing with BB's and WP's, but she K'd 9 batters (tied for her career high ... which came earlier this year, also against UNM, ironically). She pitched all 8 innings.

In the 2nd game, we lost to UNLV 11-4. Moll did not pitch. Carter got the start and the Rebels just hit her pretty hard (11 hits in 4.2 innings). She gave up runs in every inning she pitched (well, to be fair, UNLV scored in every inning, so ...). The defense gave up 3 errors (including one on Carter). Clark relieved Carter in the 5th and did not perform much better. Struggled with control again and gave up 3 walks and 1 WP in 1.1 innings of work. Offensively, we put up 10 hits, but we were 3/12 w RISP and had 12 LOB.

We play afternoon/evening games tomorrow against two tough teams: #23 Nebraska (who beat UNLV 6-1 today) and host Cal St Fullerton, who beat #14 Oklahoma today, 7-5. Should be interesting.
