Jameis Winston's treatment exposes how the FSU Community works

I distrust media frenzies almost as deeply as I distrust anything, because I've seen, in a craft I value, how easy it is to gin one up. That said, there is only one thing I distrust more, and it is something I actively despise, and that is when local law enforcement goes in the tank. They all take an oath to dispense justice without fear or favor. And the first time some local celebrity gets hauled in — and the FSU football players are what they have for celebrities in Tallahassee — suddenly the person gets the benefit of 1,000 doubts. In fact, usually, the law enforcement community in a place like Tallahassee starts its own frenzy in the other direction, because that's one of the best ways to cover your own complicity, to say nothing of your own sorry ass. Then the victim is the one who gets torched.

The local investigation into the allegations surrounding Jameis Winston was the farce that put all the other farces in Tallahassee into the ha'penny place. The way the football program handled it was a farce. The way the university handled it was a farce. The way the local police handled it was a farce, and the way the local prosecutors handled it was a farce. And what is worse, the way Winston himself has handled it has been a farce.


I wonder when Winston's Hearing Results will be determined?

Day after FSU's last game, Rapeis drops out of FSU, but before any findings are made.  Since Rapeis is no longer a student, FSU claims committee no longer has jurisdiction, calls it a day, and the sun shines all the brighter in Tallahassee, while Jimbo recruits his next class of reprobates.

So glad Winston got the benefit of the doubt in a 50/50 case. He hasn't gotten many breaks this year. Deserves it.

It seems clear that FSU is dirty, & has tried to protect Winston & other players from criminal charges.  It would surprise me if FSU is clean in this fiasco.

i saw where he has already signed a 16 mil guaranteed contract.  If anything shows 100% proof that Winston will be a bust in the NFL it is this picture.  THis kid thinks way to much of himself, and he is going to a terrible team that will expose him.  He will learn how to lose in ways he did nothing existed, as Cam Newton, but he will be rich at least for a time.
