Drake thanks fans for support after breaking leg vs. Ole Miss

It's unclear whether or not Drake has undergone surgery. Alabama coach Nick Saban said Saturday it was likely.

A number of Drake's former teammates and other former Alabama players sent well wishes on Twitter immediately after the injury. Even more big names voiced their concern and prayers into the night.

Among them: Former Crimson Tide wide receiver Tyrone Prothro, who suffered a similarly gruesome injury at the end of his career.

Florida wide receiver Latroy Pittman has been released from a local hospital after being carted off late Saturday night.

Pittman was injured in a scary-looking situation late in Saturday night's game between Florida and LSU. Pittman was injured on a pass play in his direction and rolled over before medical staff got to him down on the field. Trainers were quick to bring a stretcher onto the field for Pittman, but Pittman was released from the hospital Saturday night after everything reportedly checked out. Despite the severity of the scene, Pittman was seen moving his arms before leaving the field.

It was the play that set up LSU's winning FG after their pick and return.

Freshman linebacker Dez Harris tore his anterior cruciate ligament in MSU's 38-23 win last Saturday.

Harris returned to the field this season after redshirting last year. He also missed his senior season of high school with a torn ACL.

Harris had 10 tackles this season, but the coaches raved about his performances on special teams.

South Carolina may face No. 5 Auburn without two defensive players

South Carolina has a chance to pull off a major U-turn on what has been a disappointing 2014 season with a win over No. 5 Auburn Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium, but it appears the Gamecocks must do so without two defensive contributors.

Senior defensive tackle J.T. Surratt suffered a pulled hamstring during yesterday's 41-1o over Furman and will likely miss his chance to defend Nick Marshall and company.

"He's probably doubtful to get back this week,"  Steve Spurrier told AL.com in a Sunday evening teleconference. "J.T., one of our senior captains, we'll miss him in there. Hopefully some of the other guys can fill in admirably."

Additionally, back-up weak-side linebacker Jonathan Walton suffered a mild concussion Saturday and is doubtful this week.

Surratt has 14 tackles and a sack this season, while Walton has collected 21 tackles and a fumble recovery.

South Carolina has the SEC's 12th-ranked total defense, ranks 13th in scoring defense and is dead last in yards per play allowed (6.21), while Auburn ranks third in the conference in scoring and fourth in both total offense and yards per play.

Tight end Rory Anderson is also questionable after injuring his triceps on Saturday...

Vol coach Butch Jones has been vague with answers on Worley's status when meeting with reporters in Knoxville this week. The passer left last week's 34-3 loss at Ole Miss with a shoulder injury after being sacked seven times.

BATON ROUGE -- Center Ben Still was the first starter to miss a game due to injury this season.

He may not be the last.

At least three prominent Rebels left Saturday's 10-7 loss to LSU at Tiger Stadium with injuries. Two of them, defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche and safety Cody Prewitt, are midseason All-Americans that are among the most important pieces on the defense.

Linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche left the game in the first half with an ankle injury and was in a walking boot during the second half. Left tackle Laremy Tunsil left the game with a pulled right bicep in the third quarter but did return.

"I think Denzel may have a fracture, but I need to go find out," coach Hugh Freeze said. "We'll certainly have to go back and try to regroup and get as healthy as we can for next week."

As for Still, he did not practice all week with a knee injury so his absence was certainly not a surprise. Robert Conyers replaced him at center.

"It's hard for me to see anything from that sideline over there," Freeze said. "I'll have to watch the film. I only saw one snap that was kinda bad and threw our timing off."

UGA's Keith Marshall won't play vs. Florida

Marshall didn't travel with the team to Jacksonville and, thus, won't play in the annual rivalry game.

Marshall has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury — presumably the high-ankle variety — in the Sept. 20 win over Troy, with Saturday marking the fifth consecutive game he will have missed.  This season, the former four-star running back has rushed for just 24 yards on 12 carries.

Additionally, Sony Michel is doubtful with a shoulder injury he suffered a week after Marshall's injury.  Michel is still currently third on the team in rushing with 223 yards.

Laquon Treadwell likely out 4 month

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell is expected to need four months to recover from a broken leg and dislocated ankle suffered in the team's 35-31 loss to Auburn on Saturday, coach Hugh Freeze said Monday.

Treadwell was close to scoring a go-ahead touchdown with 1:30 remaining in the game when he was tackled from behind and fumbled. His left leg and ankle bent at an awkward angle and the 6-foot-2, 229-pound sophomore was in obvious pain before being carted off the field.

He had surgery late Saturday night to repair the broken fibula and dislocated ankle.

Freeze said Monday he hopes Treadwell, who is the Rebels' leading receiver this season, will be healthy enough to return for spring practice.

A&M starting right tackle Germain Ifedi sustained a grade-two MCL sprain. Head coach Kevin Sumlin said Tuesday he doesn't expect the lineman to return for the regular season.

"On bigger guys, [an MCL sprain is] a problem," the coach said. "I wouldn't look to see him for the remainder of the regular season. We'll probably get him back for the bowl game."

A&M is battling through some injuries, especially at key positions.

Aggies have lost starting right tackle Germain Ifedi for the regular season with a knee injury, prompting Kevin Sumlin to shift left tackle Cedric Ogbuehi to right tackle, and move Jarvis Harrison out from left guard to left tackle. Garrett Gramling will fill in for Harrison at left guard, and a pretty good argument could be made all the moves couldn't hurt this offensive line - it's been pretty bad this year when it was alleged to be a team strength.

Senior cornerback Deshazor Everett ruptured an elbow ligament against Louisiana-Monroe, but I'd expect him to do everything he can to be on the field against Auburn. If not, defensive coordinator Mark Snyder will try and throw freshmen Nick Harvey and Victor Davis against the Tigers' top receivers. The rest of the SEC wishes him well...

D'haquille Williams' knee will be evaluated, but information is scarce regarding the Auburn receiver's future following an unspecified injury.

The junior suffered the injury on a catch attempt near Texas A&M's sideline early in the second quarter Saturday. Defensive back De'Vante Harris went low on a tackle attempt and hit the outside of Williams' right knee.

"He couldn't play in the second half and that is about it," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said Saturday night. "I do not have any update at this time."

Williams had to be helped off the field by trainers. Dr. James Andrews and trainers examined Williams on the sideline, where he remained until he left for the locker room with the help of crutches shortly before halftime. He returned to the sideline on crutches to watch the end of Auburn's 41-38 loss to the Aggies.

"We told him to keep his head up," receiver Melvin Ray said. "He was actually giving us a lot of motivation. We just let him know we have his back and we're going to do everything we can to come out on top. Unfortunately we didn't. He's a strong guy. He'll be fine."

Kendell Beckwith felt the tinge in his hamstring.

Oh no, he thought. Not again.

"One of the biggest games of the year, man," the LSU linebacker said Monday with a shake of the head.

Beckwith missed just one drive of the Tigers' 20-13 overtime loss to Alabama on Saturday, but he played at less than full strength for the final three quarters.

He re-injured his hamstring early in the second quarter on Alabama's fifth drive of the game. Beckwith first injured the hamstring in the 10-7 win over Ole Miss on Oct. 25.

He played at "80 percent" the rest of the way against the Crimson Tide.

"I could go sideline to sideline. All-out sprint? Nah," Beckwith said. "It was hurting. I knew I had to toughen up and man through it."

Beckwith received only limited reps in Monday's practice, he said, but he expects his hamstring to be OK when No. 20 LSU (7-3, 3-3 Southeastern Conference) travels to play Arkansas (4-5, 0-5) on Saturday night in Fayetteville.

"It's going to be ready," he said.

Beckwith is the key cog in an LSU defense that's allowed an average of less than 110 rushing yards per game over the last month. Arkansas is 12th nationally in yards per carry, gaining 5.7 per rush.

He called the hamstring "pretty sore" Monday night during interviews with reporters.

Beckwith returned to the Alabama game after locker-room treatment that included "dry needling," an acupuncture-like method of healing muscle pain.

It appears Gurley being taken to hospital for X-rays. Malcolm Mitchell is with him for moral support, I presume, as he didn't look hurt.

There was no ice on Gurley's knee as he was taken on a cart down the tunnel.

Richt didn't have any early word on Gurley's injury, other than it's his left knee.
