Named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week. The senior picked up a win and two saves over four games.

HogFansReunited

This should be a good test for us.  My brother is a Tech alumni so bragging rights are involved here for me.  Hopefully the Hogs get another sweep but I will be happy if we split the series.

This will be tough. Sounds like they are pulling out all the stops for a Victory

HogFansReunited

I am hoping Tech pitched their ace over the weekend and he won't be available tomorrow.  One thing I have always hated is that teams in smaller conferences can save their best pitchers for midweek games.

Pretty sure it's just on CST, Cox Sports TV.

CST on TV and the games will also be streamed on CUSA.TV ($).

pigture perfect

I caught a little of Tech's game while driving through South Arkansas. Their broadcast team was terrible, and I wasn't impressed with the team, the 2 innings I listened, but that is baseball.

Ace or no ace, I expect a tough game of baseball. It's always difficult to win on somebody else's diamond.

I'll put up a scouting report later this evening. Do y'all have any preference or shall I just scout the pitching?

I'll read everything you have time to write, SPAL.   Thanks in advance.

I don't know who they will use, but I've started watching some video on Kent Hasler.

Hasler is a JUCO transfer who has a big frame and is a guy I would label as an innings eater. He has an ability to go deep in games. He has an above average to good fastball that can hit 93 but will sit primarily in the 89-91 range. He has a standard breaking ball that he will mix with a changeup. He usually will get first pitch over for strikes. He is good at getting ahead in counts. He likes to use his breaking ball and can get swing and miss stuff out of it.

He apparently never pitches from the wind up. He isn't going to over power batters, but he does have the ability to get people to chase his pitch.

He isn't going to walk a lot of batters so the hogs will need to get on him early.

We may not see him, but it looks like he is one of the main cogs in their rotation that may pitch against us.

HogFansReunited

Funny that they mentioned my comment. I honestly have no clue who their ace is but we all know that teams from small conferences will save their ace for mid week games when needed. Considering they are playing another pretty good team over the weekend, they will probably stick with their usual pitching order. It is very early in the year though so no telling what anyone will do.

J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park

http://www.latechsports.com/facilities/latc-jcl.html

Entering its 47th year of service, modern J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park continues to be one of the top playing facilities in the south since it opened in 1971. Over the years, the stadium has seen the Bulldogs amass an impressive 803-444-1 (.644) home record, making "The Love Shack" one of the toughest venues for opposing teams.

The facility has undergone several renovations in recent years with the newest additions including an all-turf playing surface, which was installed in December 2015 just in time for the 2016 season, as well as a state-of-the-art locker room and players' lounge for the Bulldogs underneath the stadium that was completed prior to the 2014 season.

Looking forward to it - anxious to see our offense against a good team on the road.

I apologize, but there just isn't a lot out there on this Sullivan kid. He is a big ole right hander from Cisco college. I can't find a single video on him.  From just going by stats....He doesn't look to be overly impressive. But stats are deceiving. I really can't tell ya what to expect with this guy.

SPAL

La tech has become something of a midweek dynamo. They will play this game like it's the CWS. This will be a very difficult matchup. But, it's one that will test us and will look really good on the resume. I'm hoping to split.

neilj17

I'm not seeing the game available on cusa.tv? The next game it shows live is wich st. This weekend.  Which stinks because I have direct tv and know way to get cstv.

Well, what would you suggest? We don't have the capability to broadcast a game in Ruston, much less in NLR. Just be thankful for the opportunity to watch it if you are able to.

I suggest the big bad sec network (espn) demand every game is available on at least the sec + channel, no matter who is broadcasting the game.

Well, since they aren't generating the broadcast, good luck trying to get that, lol.

jacobp

Shows as a GT live stream for our games, and live video for their others. Definitely going to check it out but not be surprised if they're not offering video for the game since it's going to be on cst

JHicks3636

I'm a little nervous about pbp today. Apparently I'll have no television, they use the old stats monitor that is never reliable, and my radio feed always runs well behind. I'll do my best so bear with me. If someone has a better feed perhaps you can take over if I'm too slow or unreliable.

Today's game is officially sold out, anyone else trying to see the game will have to watch from beyond the walls.

I love you guys so I bought the game. This better work.

I'm buying it, too, so I can possibly pitch in.  Unless our fighting over bandwidth kills it for both of us.  Maybe that's not how the internet works.
