I remember the Hogs getting to the final game in 1979. Back then though, there was no TV, no radio, you just had to wait till the ten o'clock news to find out if they won. I remember thinking that Norm DeBryian was almost as good a coach as Lou Holtz was, and Eddie Sutton was going to keep us at the top. Good times indeed.

I also remember the LSU championship team when they had that tall kid who way just dominant. I think it was Ben somebody. He just mowed em down one after the other. That was before we were SEC (I think) so we were allowed to cheer for the Tigers then.
Sittin in the morning sun, I'll be sittin here when evening comes.

Bomis Hawg

Ben McDonald, I think.  Drafted by Milwaukee or someone.  Didn't do much in the majors.
I remember Miami drilling Stanford a few years ago.  Wasn's Haas Pratt on the 99 Miami team?

I remember watchin the Cal State Fullerton -Texas game. During the game Harold Reynolds, the ESPN announcer said "nice peni$" then quickly caught himself and finished the sentence with "piece of hitting" funniest thing I've ever heard.  Then after the game the pitcher dropped an F-BOmb in his live post game interview

I saw the 2000 LSU team play at the CWS that year. Went up there with my baseball team for a tourney that happened to be going on at the same time. The Tiger fans were nuckin' futs!

You talking about the District tourney? I think it was you guys. Hell I was a transplant that made the team. I lived in Broken Arrow, OK and only came over here to get some exposure for the UA. I made it as a pitcher but didn't get to see the mound much. I was relegated to outfield duty. By the time districts rolled around I was pretty much on call. (If they were going to use me, they called me.)

Tuck, how old are you?  I played Legion and HS ball in MtnHome.  I bet we played against each other quite a bit.  Remember MtnHome Legions team with teal and maroon pants?  And blue and green?  We looked like a Frankin softball team out there.  I liked them though.  We were definately remembered when we went to Illinois and Florida for tournaments.

I remember watching the 1979 game with Cal State-Fullerton.  I believe KATV showed it live.  If I remember correctly, the Hogs were actually undefeated at the World Series until we played CSF, and they had to beat us twice to win the championship, which they did.

I played against Mt. Home.  I played at Rogers and we had a good rivalry in summer ball for a little while. Mt. Home was a fundamentally sound team, loved playing against them.  We also played Mt. Home in the state tournament in high school.  The year you won state in 97, we were up on you by 3 or so and blew it.  Mt. Home deserved to win though.  Great teams between 96-99.
