High School coaches breaking into college ranks

I've said for many years that there is much more innovation in high school football compared to college, and that many successful high school coaches could be very successful at the college level - the game is really not much more sophisticated, and if you can coach 17 - 18 year olds, you can coach 19 - 22 year olds.  The main difference is really the pressure. 

If you go back a few decades, this used to be very common, with many of the most successful college coaches in history starting in high school, or even jr. high.  That trend stopped a couple of decades ago, but is obviously changing, which will be good for college sports.
