can some of u guys tell me how u cook your deer,,,its getting close and i would like to try something different,,thanks

I like to do stir-fry with it a lot of times.  With back strap/tenderloin if I don't inject and bacon wrap it, I deep fry usually.

Clean em up good and cook over a really hot grill like a steak. Cook rare, slice thin, and serve immediately.

I've made Phog's deer tenderloin using the technique he mentioned here, and it was absolutely fantastic.  My wife and kids loved it and they usually won't even eat deer.

Here is a good way if you want tender tasty bites. I cut the Strap into medallions and wrapped them with bacon.

Any good steak rub. Some of the coffee beef rubs are excellent with deer.

I've seen some recipes online where the tenderloin in wrapped in bacon and put in a roasting pan in the oven.  It sounds good.  I was wondering if anyone has tried it.  I usually fry mine.

Theres nothing wtong with cooking them like that, but to me they simply taste like bacon. In my opinion, if you like deer, just eat deer. If you kinda like deer but not really, wrap it in bacon and it tastes like any other kinda meat wrapped in bacon.

If you go the bacon route, I would brush a little bbq sauce on them the last 5 minutes or so they are in the oven/on the grill.
