Best defense i have seen them play all year. this is a very good Dayton team that is going to win a lot of games this year. and Archie Miller is one of the best young coaches in the country. this is big win Hog fans. just like that road win at SMU was. enjoy this win. Mike Anderson is doing an outstanding job. great game by Portis  today. great team win. GO HOGS.

Its all about defensive effort;  if they give it, they can be stifling.  If they mail it in, it makes for a long day with little offense outside of Portis.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Very good win for the hogs.

I'm a Razorback fan. Im not overly enamored with a coach.

HogsBalls

Great win, D was back and they played through Bobby on offense.

Big wins, big losses, it's a long season.
I am not worried about losses.    we won a big game today against a team  that went to the E-8 last year. i don't want to hear about any big losses. just enjoy this big win. GO HOGS and GO Mike Anderson.

Letsroll1200

Great coaching and great effort by the hogs today. This team will beat a lot of people with that effort on defense.

I enjoy all the wins, but the other matters or they wouldn't keep score.

Glad we can ignore losses.  Our football team finished the season 6-0 right Joe?

Far from it, find where I've ever said anything about him. Mike didn't win, Arkansas did, correct? I was for him coming here, and hope he stays 10 years, but he has to win to stay, and that means 40/50% on the road.

Glad to see us play good half court defense. Game was never in doubt. However, it is important that we win out in nonconference, and then go get that Georgia game on the road.

Eddie and Nolan both said the magic formula was to win all your games at Home and half of your games on the Road.  We're not close to doing that yet.  It is what it is.

Get over Pel! he is fired and not coming back. the reason i wanted him fired was because the team was getting worse and not better. under Mike the team has gotten better every year. stop crying about Pel getting fired and get behind the players and coach Mike Anderson.

Dayton is always tough.

Should roll through the next 4 and them start SEC play.

Weird that we expect Mike to win at a level that even the best coach in our history struggled to attain.

Its still short of it.   Despite being hands-down the best coach in the history of our program--- and people have the gall to say they're being even-handed or reasonable in their treatment of Anderson.

That takes serious stones, and a complete lack of historical perspective.

"Yeah, we're not going to let the heat off of you until you win at the same pace as a guy with 3 Final Fours, a National Title, and a National Runner up-- oh yeah, and he had 15+ seasons in which to do it, and only finished with a winning road record 5 times.    Chop chop Mike, or hit the road"

Its a little worse;  the problem was that Nolan struggled just as much against non-conference road opponents.

They don't want Mike winning road games at the clip Nolan did over 17 seasons - just at the rate he did from 1988-95.

Over the long haul, upper 30s to about 40 will be a consistent tournament team, with the chance to win a game or two in the spring.

That's a far cry ahead of the Lost Decade.

It was a better job of defensive rotation today but as with any game it could be better. It was good enough to keep the game out of doubt all day. Getting better on half court defense is a must this year. Dayton does not have a very good point guard and that hurt them today. We did try to stop the ball from being taken to the goal and that is a positive sign. Taking the defense on the road and playing good half court defense in conference opponents gyms is a must if we are going to make it to the big dance.

I guess Nolan was really a hater. Expecting to win half the road games. All I'm asking for is 30%. If that makes me a hater, so be it. You can name-call all you want. Fact is, we have sucked on the road for some time now and should expect better results in year 4.

Having said that, the season is young and there certainly is time to turn it around. But I won't sit here and get lectured from the likes of you.

Joe,

When I first heard your voice on the radio many years ago, you sounded exasperated about our football coach. Most of us shared your exasperation, and I - for one - found your commentary refreshing and objective.

For some reason, you seam to have lost all objectivity when it comes to Mike. You love him - which is great. But I don't see what he is doing in Fayetteville as measurably better than Stan or John. All of these coaches enjoyed marquee wins and miserable losses.

Far from advocating for a change, some Razorback fans would like to see the basketball take measurable strides forward. Your unwavering support does not provide it, and neither has the performance of this time.

I haven't quit Joe. Far from it. Happy about today's victory, but it didn't appear to present a totally new and improved Razorback team.

Go Hogs. Go Mike.
