Which guy do you see coming back next year able to consistently knock down the mid-range jumper that we so desperately need?

-Dustin "The Junkyard Dog" Thomas
-Arlando "Where Am I" Cook
-Aldrio "The Cajun" Bailey
-Trey "Bodybag" Thompson

Both Thomas and Trey seem afraid to shoot, but both have shown the ability to make that jumper. I have a feeling when they play in the early non-conference games next season, they will realize they have to shoot that and score or they are going to lose their playtime to freshmen.

Dustin is going to be a real nice supporting cast member next year.  I expect 8-10 points a game from him and about as many rebounds.  If he can keep his traveling calls down, I think we will all remember him fondly as someone who really improved over his time as a Razorback.

Adrio Bailey. Hes that physical nasty guy we've been missing. If he develops that jumper, he jumps dustin on the depth chart
That's right, you don't want to be the man to replace the man.  You want to be the man to replace Rory Segrest.

If Trey can hit that jumper consistently he could make all Sec team. His passing and court awareness would make him hard to defend with a 10 footer to boot.

Strong possibility that its D) None of above. There is a LOT of work to be done for any of them because this season seeing them shoot was painful. But months in the gym is the only way to solve that.

Thomas is the best candidate among those present;   Thompson isn't going to be playing facing the basket nearly as much next year, as we're going to lean on him and Gafford to anchor the post.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

No, try again, D is Trey Thompson, your choice would have to be E.
I said...LSU has often been an overrated team.

That ignoramus Draconian Sanctions said..if we're overrated, why are we ranked higher than you are?

Darious Hall could be in the mix; not so much a "power" forward but I thought I read somewhere that he has a good jump shot.
Do you wanna get Rocked?

You're probably right, but I think Thompson will be his most effective playing high post with Gafford low. Between the back-door passes to cutting guards and a new weapon in Gafford who catches and dunks EVERYTHING thrown in the vicinity of the rim, Thompson theoretically could lead the team in assists.

We know Mike doesn't like to play his 2 big men (5s) much at the same time due to needing to conserve fouls and minutes, but he laxed that some this year with Trey and MK playing more together, especially late in games.

As to the point in the OP, I agree that Dustin seems to be the most likely to improve his mid-range shot, but if Adrio Bailey makes any semblance of the freshman-to-sophomore leap that we saw with Qualls (although he was a 3) in terms of confidence in taking and knocking down shots, I think he'll surpass both Thomas and Cook because he's really a better fit athletically. Very disruptive with deflections, steals, and looks like an instinctive rebounder, too.

IF Bailey makes a leap in pogression, I could still see Thomas starting but Bailey winning the lion's share of the minutes and potentially finishing games. If Thomas, Cook, and Bailey all make strides, it's a good problem to have sorting out the minutes.

Hazen will probably have the shot. Can he defend and rebound?

Personally I do not see a PF in any of these guys.  They are all 3s having to play the 4 spot because Mike can not or will not sign a true 4.  I consider a 4 a guy who is good at banging around down low getting us those tough rebounds and points then as their game progresses he can move out to take the 15 footer.   I want to see 3 or more guys on the team who are big physical guys and capable of getting us 8+ points and rebounds per game on regular basis.

Trey Thompson is the only "power" forward from that group.

3's can shoot 3's, none of these guys can hit a 3-pointer right now. Although I agree that they have the size to play 3 like Marshawn Powell and Tyler Smith from Tennessee.

Thomas will probably work on it the most this offseason. To be honest, I was a little disappointed in his lack of a jump shot. Nearly everything he posted on twitter was of him getting up jumps shots in the practice facility. Hopefully we can see some consistency next year.
