Trucks on the 9th caution of the night.  Less than 10 laps to go when they restart.

Xfinity series Friday night.  Sprint Cup Saturday night.

holeinthewall

Totally forgot they ran wed night. How did the redone surface work?

riccoar

I forgot that.  The ground down the lower groove in attempt to bring back two wide racing.

It looked a lot like the old Bristol racing, everybody running the bottom mostly. A few people were able to briefly use the middle or top groove to make a pass, but that lasted a couple laps. They added something that looks like an adhesive to the low groove. The trucks destroyed the truck record in qualifying that was like 12 years old, and were about .3 off the cup car record. Funny the first practice they wouldn't run in the low groove, they said it was too slick, the next practice Juarez went out and went to it and broke the record, and everybody ran there the rest of the day.

Ben Kennedy won in GMS truck, Brett Moffit finished 2nd. I thought we were going to see the old bump and run move but Kennedy made a brilliant 1 and 2 and gapped Moffit.

hawginbigd1

Interesting the xfinity guys weren't on the bottom, it looked like all the adhesive material is wearing off the bottom groove.

Always terrible to see Austin Dillon in victory lane. Can't think of a driver I've liked less in my entire career.

Looking forward to Cup race tonight - Busch bros should be strong.

Agree about AD!

Buff

But Austin Dillon paid his way through hard work and perseverance.

And with lots of Grandpa's money.

Buff

That always helps, except for when it comes to winning Sprint Cup races.

And with lots of Grandpa's money.

Let's not kid ourselves about the financial situations of most every driver that makes it to this level; the overwhelming majority of them come from wealthy families.  That being said, I'm not a Dillon fan.

berryhog

Lots of empty seats tonight.  Just been a few years ago we tried to buy tickets for this race and there was a waiting list.

I'm ready to see what this place looks like in a few weeks for the football game.

It will be a nightmare, I'm sure.  Supposedly, it's a 160,00 ticket sellout.

I love how we're all united in disdain for Austin Dillon

It will be a cluster frick. I remember going about 10 years ago, we had rented an RV and stayed there, but I think people were still trying to leave after we had passed out from drinking, lol.

His looking like a dork with the cowboy hat is what clinched it for me.

That did it for me too.  If I'm on a horse or working my butt off in the hot sun, I love having a cowboy hat.  I rarely wear them as a fashion accessory....that's just douchey.

berryhog

Any chance they are getting this in tonight ?

Buff

DiBennedetto is the winner.

Mega douchey when wearing a racing suit with 800 ads on it

I bet they get another 50 laps in before the next cell hits then try again tomorrow.

Looks like you might be right.  However, looking at the current radar, I'm not sure why they don't postpone it until tomorrow.  Just wasting laps...

Buff

When has nascar ever been accused of planning ahead?

Buff

Wow, didn't even get the green flag out before it started pouring again.  Who is making these decisions?

Just a way to keep people watching.  No way in hell were they gonna race tonight.

Buff

On the track again.  At this pace they'll just run the whole race under caution.

Buff

It's fun to watch Erik Jones running fast and chasing Kyle Larson for the lead.

I haven't paid much attention from all the rain.  Was the crowd tonight any bigger than the one from last night?

This is one track that the Xfinity series can be more fun to watch.

Buff

Its raining again. Means we get to watch the Xfinity race yet again.

Sounds like nap time, maybe they will be racing when I get up.

Buff

Wonder if Austin Dillon will use the same strategy today - just hope everyone in front of him crashes or runs out of gas.

If they get it in today.

Racinray

Fixing to roll the cars out.

Buff

Wow, 3 JGR cars in the top 5.  Who would have guessed?

Gordon running strong in the 88, and Harvick hanging in there as well.

*As I type that, Gordon goes up into the wall.

Buff

Who will be the last man standing?

Racinray

The 4 I hope, need some money.

Buff

Austin Dillon up to 4th.  His plan is working.
