I think Auburn flat out beat us. Our punter kept us in the game, but they were night and day the better team.

Arkansas won off busted/big plays. I really think we were the better team vs. Arkansas, but giving up a 60+ yard touchdown, and an 80 yard TD with 6 seconds to go in the half bit us hard...all just oversuing the ball. I thought LSU outcoached Arky, it just came down to execution.

Delusional fans!

how can you claim to out-coach a team when you let a big play happen at the end of the first half like that?  ;D

correction, a 85 yard touchdown and an 80 yard touchdown.
GO HOGS!

Let them all keep thinking this way.  Lester couldn't outcoach the proverbial "monkey".  They can save these quotes and use them year after year as CBP and his Hogs beat LSU.

Last post in the Tavern here.  See you guys.  Have fun.

As Coach Petrino would say...."AYSM"

If we had Hocker kicking last year we would have taken the last 4 from them.  That, my friends is a trend, not luck.

Then there was that 85 yard td pass, 30+ td pass on fourth and three, wide open sweep by KD for the first score, giving up almost 500 yards on defense while managing less than 300 on offense, unable to take advantage of two intercepts or great field position (less than 50 yards to go).......and so forth.

EastexHawg

Yeah, we've lucked out three of the last four and lost the other one in OT...which only happened because an LSU homer official said their runner whose knee hit the turf four feet inside the line was out of bounds.

I wonder if the LSU defensive linemen and linebackers were thinking how "lucky" Arkansas was in the fourth quarter as we just kept lining up and stuffing it down their throats.

SoonerSooie

And, let's see, we out gained them in yards 400+ to less than 300 was it not?
And, let's see, what about that 6+ minute drive in the fourth quarter in which our O line simply imposed its will on their vaunted defense.
And, let's see, there was something about our running back, some guy named Knile Davis. Oh, yea, I remember now, he was the only running back that the tigger D allowed to run for over 100 yards, all freakin year. But, he didn't stop at 100, he went off on em for 150!
And, let's see, there were all those other completed passes, to DJ, to Jarius Wright, et. al.-- were all those completed passes "busted assignments"? If so, then their vaunted Defense must truly be sorry as can be for missing so stinkin many assignments!
I tell you, those Hog receivers just catch so many passes it just messes you up!!
The excuse makin poster is right on one thing though: "It just came down to execution." We executed the Tiggers!!!

Passing:
J.Jefferson - 116.6 rating/184 yds
R. Mallett - 199.0 rating/320 yds

Rushing
LSU-100yds
Ridley-75yds 4.4 avg
AR-144
Davis-152yds 5.1 avg

First Downs:
LSU-14
AR-19

Total Net Yards:
LSU-294
AR-464

The only statistical stat they won was FG kicking (75% to 50%) and Kick Returning (Peterson is a beast - returning/defense) I thought they did well with their pass rush too, but that may be why they gave up the big play.

Maybe we should have shoved into the endzone when we were on the 6inch line to make sure they knew they were beaten properly.

Poster above me beat me to the stats :)

HamHands

Petrino definitely outcoached Miles. However, they may have only had 294 yards because they started at our 45 yard line almost everytime we had to kick to Peterson. Just sayin'. I also think the corndogs can suck it! Using Les Miles' logic, LSU hasn't beaten us in regulation in the last 4 years.
One day at a time.

It was not the Hogs sharpest game (it didn't have to be) and it wasn't lsu's sharpest game.  Arkansas saw opportunities and scored touchdowns.  LSU saw opportunities and kicked fieldgoals.  The truth is both teams tried to give the game away and the hogs were the only team that took the other team up on its offer.

Don't let stats get in the way of an argument.

Plus, they forget the 7 points we left on the field by taking a knee.  Blind homers.
