I think we need a sweep and nothing less to regain a shot at a top 8 seed. HUGE series starting Thursday night.

I don't. Depending on who wins and loses next weekend we might still Win the SEC w/ just 2 wins this weekend?.  As well as finishing #1 or #2 in overall the SECT will/can play into the seeding.

1. Vanderbilt 43-10 2-1 1
2. Rice 41-11 4-0 4
3. Florida State 43-9 1-2 2
4. North Carolina 41-11 4-1 5
5. San Diego 41-15 3-1 6
6. Virginia 39-12 1-2 3
7. Texas 39-14 1-0 7
8. Arizona State 37-12 3-0 10

A sweep might help us get past one or two of these teams. Without a sweep, it will take one of them having a HORRIBLE weekend to pass them.

The NCAA doesn't seed the Top 8 strictly by ranking.  The Hogs are still in line if they take care of business.

I realize they take attendance into consideration as well. However, if we have another bad series I think we have a regional at best. The Hogs need to make a statement against Ole Piss. They need to kick the damn door down and let everyone know that if you want to go to the CWS then you have to stop in Fayetteville to do it.

All of those schools will also have to get past their regional and of course we will also.  You can bet that at least one will drop out if that happens I bet we get the Super Regional if we do not get one straight.  You would think they if you have one school at #9 and us at #10 they would pick us because of the people we bring to each game.

San Diego won't host a super, and I doubt SC gets one over us if we go 2-1  this weekend, and win a couple at the SEC tournament.

actually they don't seed them by ranking at all, at least not by these polls rankings.  They use this to come up with the top 8 seeds.

Regionals and seeding are based on this for the most part..

overall record, Division I record, overall RPI rank, nonconference record and RPI rank, conference regular-season record and conference tournament results, road record and RPI, last 10 games' record, record against teams ranked 1-25, 26-50, 51-100, 101-150 and below 150 in the RPI, head-to-head record, common opponents' record and input from regional advisory committees.

These polls hold no bearing on the NCAA selection committee, which is good actually since a few of them have quite large discrepencies in rankings.

They don't re-seed after the regionals though. If we were paired w/ say the Texas regional and they won we would play them in Austin.

I know, that was not the question.  If we win the O/A w/ just 2 wins, is that enough for a Top 8 seed?  I say Yes.
I would think so since we can draw so many fans which means more money for the NCAA
