I had oatmeal and yogurt. At work.

I'm not a "foodie". Seems like something a reader of the Arkansas Times would enjoy talking about.

We are all foodies...unless you have found a new way to survive.

Food is essential, why not make the most of it?

Kathy's Corner is Siloam Springs. Good food, good service and if you leave there hungry it's your own dang fault!
Have you ever listened to someone  or read what they put into thoughts and wondered...."who ties your shoelaces for you?"

That's just your opinion - breakfast appeals to all from white trash to White House (wait....) - some people like Denny's and WaffHou - I'm not judging...like you.

Don't come in pushin a 71B agenda- I'm not a huge fan   ;)- 412 has the Beauty of Beaver Lake when heading to Sonora...not the beauty of South Rogers. I'd like my sausage and biscuit while cruising over the 412 bridge on the beautiful White River.

you forgot Cracker Barrel and Sonny's BBQ

Is there a good place for breakfast near campus?

30 years ago there was the IHOP on College with the A-frame roof

but when IHops got away from the A-frame roofs, the quality of the food went down drastically

I heard -back in the day- when the A frame was in place, they had space to cure / age ham, bacon, etc.... After they took away the curing room the quality of the breakfast meats when to the shitter.

no idea, just know the A-frame IHOP was a great late night cozy place to go with your girl after a marathon romp. Also made you imagine the waitress would come out in one of those skimpy Dutch mini dresses like the beer girls wear and compete with your gf for your attention after said marathon romp - and all washed down with biscuits and gravy and sausage and eggs and pancakes and cold milk (back when that was no challenge to the metabolism)

Ahhh...the IHOP on N. College. Good times. It's a Flying Burrito these days.

Why does NW Arkansas not promote 412 as Americas Breakfast Trail? Missed opportunity...

Starting at I-49 you got Denny's, Waffle House, Susan's, Sunset Grill, Mama Z's, Flapjacks, TnT, Hilltop, etc heading out towards Huntsville....probably 4-5 I am forgetting out towards Ok - not to mention the Casino in Siloam (but it's IN Oklahoma so I didn't count it)

Talk about a sleeping giant...People would come from all over if they knew the quality of breakfast in our area.

Cathy's Corner in Siloam is local and legit

Razorback_Mack

If you want to eat good breakfast eat it at home.

If you keep driving on 412 past Huntsville, there is a gas station/general store in Marble (Kings River Country Store) that has great selection, great value, and good food. There is seating there where you can hang out with the locals if you really want to get the full effect!

Then it's on over to the Top Rock Drive-In in Alpena, or maybe the Ranch House in Harrison.

this list is dumb b/c CATHY'S CORNER isnt even on it, therefore it is null and void as that's the best breakfast in the state.

The OP's list actually started at the the intersection of I-49 & Hwy 412 in Springdale and was working back to the east. He clearly stated that he knew he was forgetting some back towards Siloam Springs. We've added Cathy's Corner in Siloam...now back to the list.

Everyday FRY-DAY ...I like that. You can get full and at the same time the grease leaves the fingers feeling soft and moisturized.

I agree, we can't forget the rural beauty of and good food in Alpena & Harrison....'the trail' can easily stretch from the AR border w OK all the way to the Missouri state line and a person can just follow the smell of bacon.

Waffle House is a franchise, breakfast as trashy as most of the patrons there.

OK SO FIRST OF ALL YOU DO NOT DISRESPECT A SOUTHERN ICON LIKE WAFFLE HOUSE LIKE THAT I'M GOING TO NEED YOU TO BACK OFF AND PUT SOME RESPEK ON THEIR NAME.

Secondly Dickson has one of, if not the only, non-standalone waffle house and it's cool as heck.

Thirdly, only God can judge.

And finally how can you saw DAIRY GD QUEEN is a better value than Waffle House?

I have eaten breakfast once at a Cracker Barrel, at West Memphis, AR.  It was good breakfast food.

Cracker Barrel is one of the better places to get a good meal.  I have eaten at the following 13 Cracker Barrels.

Springdale, AR
Bentonville, AR
Alma, AR
Russellville, AR
Conway, AR
Little Rock, AR
Jonesboro, AR
West Memphis, AR
Memphis, TN
Branson, MO
Tulsa, OK
Shawnee, OK
Arlington, TX

The best one I have eaten at was the one in Branson, MO.  The 2nd best one was Springdale, AR (have eaten there a lot and it is always good).  The worst one has been Alma, AR.

The one in Conway has always been good (I have eaten at that one at least 3 times, maybe 4 times).  It has been the 3rd best one after Branson and Springdale.

Man do I miss The Common Grounds. That Flaming Buddha that they had was the real deal. Several have mentioned Cathy's, and I'm a huge fan. Most of my family is from Siloam, so I kinda grew up on Cathy's and Barnette's when we'd head down to see the family.
Arkansas Football: It's the players running through the A, Hog Hats, and Big Red. It's more than 70,000 fans calling, "WOO PIG SOOIE!"

Arkansas Football: It's the State of Arkansas banding together behind one team, and a mascot like no other. Those select few who put on the jersey are... chosen. They wear the colors, they pay the price, and they succeed. They are exceptional, they are Razorbacks.

Together we stand as tall as the towers of Old Main. Our memories are etched in stone like names on Senior Walk. And our blood flows Razorbacks Red. For 100 years we've been Hogwild and today we continue the tradition.

We are Arkansas Razorbacks!

Offseason!!!! Just got through reading about how big our O-line will be, to where to eat breakfast. I think I'm going to make my game weight before the end of Feb. I like Kings River, however never had breakfast. I recommend the fried chicken livers. Word of Caution, don't wear good gameday shirt while eating the livers.

For years on gameday mornings I was in line at Jerry's and occassionally my daughter would talk me into Bogey's so she could get the Belgian Waffle. Still drive by that corner when I'm in town and have Jerry's flashbacks.
Just sitting on the deck with a cold beer and a hot tequila watching the razorbacks roam.

Jerry's was absolutely positively the best. Too bad it's gone.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

Sometimes waiting at Jerry's made me think that cook had one iron skillet.  But always worth the wait.

If we are going to derail Twist's thread to include Fayetteville places no longer here...  Poor Fred's, late 70's; and Uncle Gaylord's, early 90's.  Classics.

We tried to go there before one of the ballgames this last fall and it was so packed we decided to go elsewhere. Must be good then. Thanks we'll give it another shot.

Yep it's such a small place that I think there may be a wait just about any time you go. We waited about 20 minutes but we didn't have anything else to do. You can get a flight of 3 different flavor pancakes. I had a banana one, a pumpkin one, and a chocolate one and we shared a breakfast scramble. Pretty tasty.

Hmm, good to know. That once a year fishing expedition needs a good breakfast stop.

I love the places that have almost a BBQ restaurant type of dedication to smoking their meats. If that isn't available, it is always great to dine with the natives. I try to avoid chains, so this and the Alpena suggestion are winners in my book.
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater.
