Interesting times for Badgers fans here in Madison.   The new football coach debuts in two months, Bo Ryan is now a lame duck over the basketball program, and Barry Alvarez will be 69 years old in December.

Of course, they have changed coaches since Merrick was there.  The new coach coached under Coach B, and the one that left was an outsider.  May be they will get it all back.

I haven't had very much "in person" time around Coach Bielema, but the time I had left me impressed with the way he interacted with parents, players and his staff. In all fairness, anyone can "put on the dog when the lights come on", but he certainly seems genuine in everything he says and does. Mike Irwin and some of his fellow sportswriters on here have had more exposure to him in various venues and maybe they can speak to this more. But I came away impressed with the man and I can see why parents and players seem to love him and more importantly, trust him.

When Merrick receives offers from noted programs like Alabama, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina and, of course, Arkansas...I have to believe this many top tier programs aren't wrong in their evaluation of JM.
Coach Pittman is just the guy to make Jalen into a force here in Fayetteville.
