Where is the best place to buy a hand gun?

Been doing some research and places like Buds and Gun Brokers have much better prices on Springfield Armory's XDS 9MM. I know about the $35 fee from a local FFL dealer. Where do you guys prefer?

Ft Thompson usually has good prices and helpful guys behind the counter. I bought a FNS for $150 less than Gander Mountain was wanting

I only go to the range about twice a year. Yes I sold my .357 and I'm going to buy something smaller for carry. The 13-3 I had was very heavy and bulky. I'll be retiring soon and will have the time for more shooting practice.

FYI on my search. I bought a Springfield Armory XD-S 9mm 3.3 today from Gunbuyer.com for $369 delivered. I'll have to pay a $35 FFL transfer fee but no tax on the purchase.
For comparison: The exact same pistol was priced at:
Bass Pro Shops $470 + tax
Cabela's           $500 + tax
Academy          $450 + tax
Ft. Thompson   $444 + tax
Gander Mtn      $500 + tax

Even with the FFL fee I saved over $100.

I forgot about the Gun Genie on Galleryofguns.com, the cool thing about buying from there is that you get to see prices from many dealers. I think they also provide a lifetime warranty on purchases.
