If we had, what is in my opinion, a top 5 football coach as we do with Van Horn and baseball, could we recruit as well? It looks like we have pulled several stud baseball recruits from Texas again this year. With the right football coach, could we also break the top 10? I've always heard we'll never recruit at the top of the SEC due to location, but baseball seems to be getting it done.

Its incredible that the SEC has 6/10 teams in the top ten for baseball recruiting. And LSU comes in at 11.

Baseball recruiting demographics are such that you can't compare to football.  In any way

Get a good coach with some of the best assistants that are great at recruiting is a good way to start.  We do have a couple good recruiters in Michael Smith and Lunney but the others aren't great or haven't done much recruiting in their career.  Tony Vitello was ranked the number one recruiter in the SEC and number two recruiter in the country by his peers.  Can Arkansas land the number two recruiter in the country in football?

Arkansas, yes. Bielema? No.

You need to do some
Reading on what is coming out in the recruitment of Leo Lewis, his teammate wrapped in all this, Ricky seal
Jones, and others.  Football is about 10,000 payments, cars, etc....  baseball is not.

In baseball they have to deal with six figure signing bonuses.  Only the best teams can get players to leave money on the the table and play college baseball

Except college football has under the table signing bonuses beIng offered by more the. One team that drafted you.

For example the story that came out on Ricky seals jones or whatever his name was is that I believe lsu and A&m got in a bidding war, A&M final offer was to double whatever LSU offered.

The Leo Lewis sweepstakes signing bonus to ink with MS st was $11,000 admittidely by him

Apples and oranges....Wish it was the same, but it's not. Vandy would be #1 in recruiting ratings in football if comparable.

RazorPiggie

When you have a top 5 coach you get players to come in.

Now would that be the same in Football? Not sure. But if Saban came in next year, I don't think we'd be top 5 in recruiting but we'd probably be top 10 or 15.

these two are so different from one another on so many levels it is hard to imagine these are both student athletes.
