An Incentive To Lose

Once again, I'm reminded about how much money is involved for a team that is going to be invited to the tournament anyway if it tanks and allows a team that would not be invited to get in.  Assuming MSU was on the bubble, it made sense for Tennessee to let them win.  Likewise, last year, Arkansas made money in losing to Georgia in the final. 

Now, I'm not saying it's going on, but one of these days, I won't be a bit surprised to see a scandal of some sort when a top team dumps a game to someone that otherwise would be at home or the NIT.
