6-10 > 2-14!!!!! Mike Anderson  had prior success VS Sunbelt coach that was average at best.

lovetthog1

Newsflash people... Pel isnt going to get it done in two years three years four years or ten years. We do not owe him another year to see if he will figure it out. If Long keeps Pel around one more year then will be making a big mistake, mark it down. 2-15 would get you fired at a directional school.

my point is you give any coach more than 2 years, if you are a reasonable human being anyway.

95% of the coaches you give more than 2 years, but not coaches who are running a program that is out of control, you nip it in the bud quick before the problem gets larger. We just don't agree if Pel is in that 5% or not.

I am not avoiding it. Nolans teams always played good defense. Nolans teams were improving throughout the season. And 6-10 is much better than 2-15 . On top of all that you have completely ignored my statements that with Anderson you have a known commodity. Anderson has and can do it in the big leagues. Pel hasn't proven anything.

first of all i was talking to FCJ and don't flatter yourself, i wasn't ignoring your statement about MA, i don't even remember what you said until you posted it. MA might be a good option for us, but you don't fire a coach after his second year, and one true recruiting class.

if you want us to look like a delusional athletic department then fire away, i'm sure it will only help to attract a big name coach, you know, like the last time around.

No you said No mid major would keep a coach after a 2-15 season.   I simply found one for you that did.  Im sure there are more.     FAU's season ended a week and a half ago...im sure he'd be gone by now if they planned on it

On a side note, I did check.  Long did not hire Dixon.    Dixon had zero college head coaching experience prior to his hire as well

No I said directional school. It's not unusual for teams to make a coaching change after the NCAA tourney. If you think the program will look bad for firing a 2-15 coach just think how bad they will look when they bring him back and he does it again.

The last time around our demented AD was still in power and no decent coach wanted to work for him. We have a modern day AD now and he should be given the opportunity to get his man

Exactly.. What is it with all of these chicken littles who think poor little Arkansas won't be able to get a coach. It won't be hard to find one to do worse than 2-15 so what are you really afraid of ? I have to wonder do all you who are afraid to fire Pel because the last coaching search have a wife or girlfriend ? Or did you give up the first time a girl told you no ?

Id say FAU qualifies as a directional school

and they are bringing him back because they have conidence that Jarvis will get it done.   heck even alot of FAU fans have confidence in him

You know the thing that Arkansas fans should have here

3. Well I like the way Mike Anderson's teams play defense, but I am worried about his ability to recruit.

Cal, Petino, Self, ect are not leaving their school except for the NBA.

Would be an interesting to see who Long decides on. Great fans, great facilities, and deep pockets means Arkansas can get almost any coach they want, but my question is why would Long put himself in that position. If he sticks with Pel for the next two or three years he does not have go find a coach that will make or break his reputation. He can sit back and look like a genius for getting Petrino. A big name coach will cost 3-4 million and he could use the 2-3 million he is saving with Pel to build a big time practice facility and weight room. Pel will make just enough improvement each year to justify this stand and the next coach, if one is needed, will see that Long will give him time to get his players in here.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
