41 points is a lot of points but I wouldn't be surprised if LSU hung 50 on N. Texas.

The weather is supposed to be a levelling factor, but there is nothing that can happen, weather wise, to make that game even.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

LSU will cover.  They'll win 55-7 or 52-0, somewhere around there.

USC - 10.5 over Ohio State
Calif -14 over Maryland

I think Miss State keeps Auburn from covering this weekend. They'll be tough in Starksville.

We'll just have to see on USF/Kansas.

One proviso on my USC/Ohio State pick.  If Ohio State plays Terrell Pryor a significant amount while the game is still close, then I think they will cover.  I remember telling an incredulous Longhorn buddy that we would win in Austin in 2003 so long as Chance Mock played the entire game and Vince Young rode the pine.  Thankfully, Mack didn't start Young until after we whipped them that year.

I see the same thing here with Ohio State and Pryor.

I think I heard this morning that Pryor is starting for Ohio State.

The "locks" (<---no such thing) I got are:

Mich (-2) over ND- Notre Dame is still bad and Mich will be improved
E Carolina (-13) over Tulane - Ecar is the real deal. good D. I see em putting up 14 even with the weather
Tenn (-30) over UAB- UT will light it up. Need to prove something. They'll run it up
Georgia (-8) over So. Car- I am really suprised that the spread is this low
USC (-11) over OSU- Even if Wells plays he won't be %100. Thats OSU's main weapon
North TX (+41) over LSU- N. TX will cover and I'll tell you why. Even if Ike isn't on a direct path to LA, The outer bands will be causing a lot of wind and rain there. This is going to keep the ball on the ground, and with the new clock rules, I don't think LSU will have time to put up 42 on em.

Michigan-Notre Dame........weather may play a factor in this game. ND averages about 100 yards more per game on offense than Michigan, but Michigan gives up about 50 yards less per game on defense. Neither team is impressive but Michigan is +.50 in turnovers to ND's -2.0 and Michigan is 2 of 3 in FG's while ND is 0 for 1. Whomever takes care of the ball and capitalizes on the others teams mistakes is going to win this game. It will be a close. A battle of the "not so juggernauts".

Without knowing which UCLA QB will show up tomorrow, that's just too many points.  There's too many easier bets to make out there than that.

That's a good point, but UCLA has to find a running game if they hope to be in the game. I am not sure they can do that. They sure didn't show it last week with a total of 29 yards rushing.

What rushing game outside of Locker did Washington need last week to give BYU all it wanted and then some?

UCLA can win another ugly game, but I'm staying as far away from betting it as possible.

Bet the SC game, if you can still get a good line now that Beanie Wells is Out for certain.

Granted, Locker accounted for 266 of Washington's 337 yards and while BYU had 475 yards of total offense, they did give the Huskies 2 turnovers. That game should never have been that close. And for the life of me, I can't see how it was. Running the numbers, I see it being close and perhaps a point under the line. BYU may not cover in this game if UCLA shows up to play. Like you, this isn't a game I would bet on, but it is one of the less noticed, but more intriguing games of the day.

Well, I would say that question is being answered as we speak since the "Fighting Mangino's" failed to answer the bell in the second half.

They are overrated.  South Florida has the better team.  They just aren't finishing for some reason.  South Florida will win the Big East (not that that's saying a lot).  Kansas will be lucky to finish with less than 4 losses.

Well now, let's be sure and not look at this objectively. It seemed to me that those teams are fairly even. As momentum swung back and forth, each team took its turn smashing the other in the mouth, and neither team looked tremendously stronger than the other. 434 to 458 total offensive yards? KU gave up 1 turnover and that was the one that led to the FG by USF with 2 seconds remaining. The game couldn't be any closer and just as I said earlier about this game, it was decided by special teams. It was a great game by two great teams. I give both of them their due.

I wouldn't touch that game.....there was water standing on the field yesterday and Tech isn't accustomed to playing in wet weather. Wind, yes. Wet weather? No. There is not tellijng whether Tech covers or not. On a dry field, I might not hesitate to take them.

Going the other way on SF, I think Kansas is overrated.

I like Vandy in this game, Rice has no defense, see Memphis 35 last game, and a SEC offense should always dominate a conf USA team.  Vandy should be able to hold them to 14 and easily score 24 probably closer to 28.  May like the over in this game also.

I love Georgia covering the 7, this could be ugly.

For some reason I love Wisconsin -2.  I think they cover this easily.  Fresno St may be good, but Wisconsin is better than they are given credit for.

I'm looking for another game, but Penn St scares me.  USC could cover, or it could be close.  I need to bounce back this week from a bad week last week.  2-3 and missed my teaser.

Well, I pushed on the UGA game, I believe Richt has a lot of respect for Spurrier, and that is the only reason that this game wasn't in the 35-7 range.

Hit the USF v Kansas game, and I also picked up a tip from my boss on the VT v GT game, and played the under with a total of 38, yeah, I barely made it.

So for this week I am 2-0-1, with a big wager on Wisconsin, I put some on it at the -2 it was at last night, and then double that on the -1 it is at right now.

Let's go Badgers.....

Terrible, terrible week for me.

I got the benefit of a couple of good breaks to start the weekend, with the North Carolina and Kansas covers, and while Ga Tech did me right, as did Penn State--   Michigan sucked donkey balls, Cal played horrendously from start to finish, and Clemson couldn't stop shooting itself in the foot long enough to cover the 21 I needed.   I still have USC to cover, the under in Auburn/MSU, and  OU and KY to cover.   I feel really, really good about each of those bets, too.

I suppose this isn't a truly terrible weekend, but if Clemson could just hang onto the ball in the red zone, I might have been looking at the best week ever, profit wise.   As it stands, I can still have a very good week, but it could have been so much better.

Good call on Cal.   They're a very good team that's playing a very bad Maryland team; they might cover a 40 point spread this weekend.
I know better....I thought the same thing until I realized the game was in Maryland and at noon eastern..9:00 am Cal time. Lethargic effort.

There's no excuse whatsoever that can justify the egg that Cal laid today at Maryland.  This is their worst performance since losing the Holiday Bowl while ranked #4 nationally, because their players quit on them and didn't want to be there.

NO Doubt....but

Nevada @ Mizzu
Stanford @ TCU
Cal @ Maryland
WSU @ Baylor
Oregon @ Purdue
Hawaii @ Oregon St

That's all the teams that traveled east 2 or more time zones.   None covered...only two ( Stanford & Oregon ) even came close.  My point was I no better than to bet on a west coast team coming east.
