I know this has NOTHING to do with Razorback football but we are all football fans in general so I thought we could get a thread going for next weeks game....Let the Hype begin.  FIGHT ON!!

razorbackred

I hope USC wins by at least 3 TD's and D Williams has a HUGE game!!!

MS Razorback

Hype? USC is going to beat the hell out of them.

Scary part is, you might be right...   ;)     Hope USC leaves them in the dust....

yeah they(OSU) have figured out the key to the BCS. They finish earlier that everybody else, then move up the rankings when all the other top programs beat each the following weeks and in their conference championship games.

Anybody on this board who roots for USC is just plain forgetting the ass-whoopin they put on us a few years back.   Pete Carroll ran up the score and I will NEVER forget it - I always root for whoever is playing USC, as long as that A-hole is coaching there.  I can't believe you guys would root for the favorite in this matchup.  Cmon, seriously. >:(

Tressel's too good of a coach for state to get blown out (well... i guess i thought that before they played florida, too), but it's going to take a miracle for them to win.

The sooner that USC embarrasses another BCS-conference team in a similar fashion to what they did to us, the better; someone else will be their victim of memory.

I do understand your point.  But for me, it comes down to who you "dislike" the most...  USC whipped us those years, but they were GOOD.  Pete Carroll ran up the score like EVERY top coach in the country now does.  Right or wrong, the coaches have little choice if they want to compete for the NC.  He strikes me as a pretty straight up coach, and he started as an assistant at Arkansas.  As for THE Ohio State University, or Michigan, or Penn State, or etc., I personally wish every Big 10 team could go 0-11....

But, they can't because (1) they play each other AND, (2) they don't PLAY that many games usually!   No conference championship gives them that little boost in the final polls of the year, along with the help of the ESPN lovefests.

And no... I haven't forgotten the "ass-whoopin"(s), and I am looking forward to BIG paybacks in a NC game some time in the not to distant future.  ;)

i hope USC scores more on them and beats them by a wider margin than anyone in the illustrious history of the Ohio State U.  I want to see Herbstreit cry on camera!

Unfortunately, you are probably right (about OSU making it to another BCS championship game).  The fact that USC will beat down Ohio State, will be forgotten by some, since this is an early season match-up.  That combined with a weak Big Ten, could put Ohio State in the championship game.

cypert2

After USC beats Ohio State by 50 points they will drop all the way down in the national rankings to about fourth or so.
Swinging on the two and the four.

I can't stand either of the teams.

However, we need Ohio State to get blasted in a couple of OOC games as they will likely glide through their Big 11 (10) schedule.

Ohio State didn't back into last years title like those LSU Tigers did.

Until a Big 10 team has to beat their biggest in-conference competitor twice they have no place in the BCS Nat Championship game.

Slowhio state will get the crap kicked out of them.

Petey will be looking to make a huge statement on Saturday much like they did by hanging 70 on us. It's always bad news any time Carroll has a reason to really step on the gas. In this case it's Ohio St. being overrated each and every year. I suspect he'd like to do the rest of the country a favor and step on OSU's throat.

Hogsnort

Think of it this way. Ohio State making it to the NC game has not been a bad deal for the SEC teams in contention the past two years.

......and unless USC loses a couple of conference games, they could be playing against one another for the NC. I think USC may lose one this time around.

Although Terrell Pryor can be exciting, this upcoming game will remind OSU of playing against Flroida and LSU.

A friend of mine goes to the OSU qb club meetings and he says they are being really quiet about Beanie.

I hate to see USC plow somebody, but they will hammer USC by at least 28.

Beaverfever

This will be funny.  I predict Ohio state is down by 4 touchdowns at half and Ohio state goes with pryor as their full time QB.

jgphillips3

USC 44, OSU 10.  Fortunately we will be able to get one pretender completely out of the picture early this year.

DrSwineESQ

I hope USC covers the field with tiny little buckeye pieces and then grinds them into dust.

It ain't Pete's job not to score.  It was Reggie's job not to let him.  Hate it when people cry about getting scored on.

bigyellowdog

I hate both schools, but I hope Southern Cal hangs half a hundred on Ohio State.

hillhog

If I recall correctly Dork was the coach of the team(s) that USC pounded at will. Perhaps a little recruiting and coaching could have lessened the blows that USC dealt. I watched and listened to the announcers of the Ohio/Ohio State game. They were in awe of O State. Appeared ready to give them a ticket to the championship game now. Forget the rest of the season. I hope USC has a fun day.

It's hard not to run up the score when you score every 2 plays for the first 8 plays of the game....think before posting. If you give up 70 to anyone you deserve to get it ran up on you

hei5manhog

Who ya got?? Why?

I'm pretty excited about this game which I know I'm probably the only one. As hilarious as it will probably be to watch OSU go down to a team with actual athletes AGAIN, I wonder if there's anything to this phreshman phenom QB Ohio State might break out a la Vince Young.  That's the only way I see USC being tripped up if they struggle against him in a similar fashion. But he's a freshman, and he's not Vince Young soooo I'm going with the Trojans by 14.
"If I can't practice, I can't practice. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that?

MM and DW are to be lauded as Arkansas sports heroes for their overall contribution, not just on the playing field during one season, but also for the sacrifices that they made which ensured the dismantling of the Frank Broyles machine.

tiber

Wells may be listed as 'doubtful', but I would say it's a 'certainty' that he'll be shot up with enough drugs to run into a brick wall w/ no pain come game time.  If he pulls a Mendenhall and goes for big yardage against USC he knows he'll get a large payday come draft time.

I don't know if that will affect the outcome of the game though.  The 2nd team RB for OSU certainly did not impress last week.

Buckeyes play the best when they are the underdog!   Senator Tressel pulls them together and the OSU defense leads the way!
