South Carolina's defense is certainly the class of the SEC this year, but their offense is something to be desired.  Can't believe I'm saying this but I bet they wish they had Casey Dick.

Vandy trying to score...1st n goal.

BlueBox

Vandy should have realized what the first drive showed them.  LSU knew what to do with Hestor.  Why pull him for a fly weight guy?

There is definitely one thing I am thankful for as a result of this game.  South Carolina's offense is bad and Spurrier was once regarded as an offensive genius.  They are worse than we are right now.  Casey Dick is a FAR better QB than anyone they have.  Spurrier is in his third year now I believe.  Can you even imagine what we would be hearing if this was us in two years to start the season on offense?  South Carolina has reminded me how much to be thankful of in our team...except that we let them steal our DC.

Busta_Swines

Vandy's QB Nixon has some wheels...he's fun to watch.

nxm002

I'm sure they are fine not having casey dick.

Vanderbilt is 600 miles from the nearest ocean.  So why are they Commodores and blow a foghorn?

I don't think having a conversation about sailors blowing anything is appropriate material for the board.  :)

BigSexyHog

Vandys done pretty well tonight.  Hope they can close it out and send the cocks home with a loss.

Vandy is capitalizing on S Carolina's mistakes.  S Carolina is marching right down the field on Vandy's D.

If you're being serious, because Commodore Vanderbilt either founded the school or it's named after him, not sure which.

I was and wasn't at the same time.  Just seems strange to hear a foghorn so far from sea.

Much better game than I expected.  I credit Vandy more than I blame S. Carolina.  Vandy has become a decent football team.

Yeah, that foghorn is weird from a landbound school.

kimjongsqUeAl

WOAH!!  Blocked FG!  Vandy gets some huge momentum.  Hope they can turn this into some points and beat the Cocks.  Had to say it.

I'm actually cheering for Vandy.  It'd be nice to see them get bowl eligible for once.

For some reason I just don't like South Carolina.  I am definitely cheering for Vandy.  Ole Bobby Johnson does a pretty good job considering he is at Vandy.

Pastor_Hog

Awesome!  Go Vandy...I love it when South Carolina loses.

After Spurrier shafted DMac last year, I have no problem pulling against him.

Bacon out...

RickyRoma

What's happened to Spurrier's offense?  It seems he has lost the passion for the game.

Hogtropolis™

South Carolina's offense had been horrible in the first two games of the year.  I thought that was Spurrier's specialty.

LeadHog

Right now, this game is an example of how special teams can help you win or destroy you.  A muffed punt and a blocked field goal = 14 points for Vandy.

Refresh me on what happened.  I know he gets to vote since he is a former Heisman winner, but I forgot what he did.  Was it that he left DMac off his ballot completely even after the record setting game he had against USC?

whatsshakinbacon

Spurrier voted Tebow 1, and two other players 2 and 3 leaving DMac off of the list and giving him zero points towards the Heisman.

Tebow from Florida and DMac had run 320+ on S. Car. just a few weeks before.

Most biased vote in the whole dang poll if you ask me.

BlueBox

To me this is a game between a real coach and a celebrity coach.  That's all.  So far real is wining.  I'll take the hit in pick 'em for not going with my gut if Vandy pulls it out.  Anyone can win at Florida.  At Vandy or SC?  Doesn't seem so.

Papawhog

Yep, Spurrier did shaft DMac last year in the voting. Holtz also said before the game that S.Car. had the best D in the SEC ...ha. I remember one game in Fayett. when Spurrier and his Florida team was waxing us like 40 or 50 something to like 10 and he was still throwing bombs late in the 4th quart. He was asked after the game about that and his response was " I didn't know it was against the law to throw the ball in Arkansas in the 4th quarter". Never have like him.

3kgthog

SC best defense in the SEC? LMAO Right.

BlueBox hit the nail on the head. Spurrier has become nothing more than a celebrity pretending to be a football coach. He's now all about the sound bite instead of the W. Without that fantasy land of talent in Florida he just can't win big at SC and never will. The Cocks and the SEC will be better off once that big mouth leaves the game.

How in the world do you miss that facemask call?  It couldn't get any more obvious.

That couldn't be any truer right now.  It seems like every year for the past 3 years, South Carolina has been waaay overrated.  Especially last year.  They were ranked 6th at one point.  That was a joke.  The only reason they get ranked and ranked so high, is because who Spurrier is.

BlueBox

There they go..  What they should have known on the first drive.

Busta_Swines

South Carolina has de-railed...TD Vandy

I am just glad Vandy ain't on the schedule this year!

Yeah, thank God we only have Alabama, Auburn, Florida and LSU.  :)

But I was thinking that myself.

Well....it ain't over yet.   That said, I hope Vandy plays the remainder of the game with emotion, and closes out the Gameclucks.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
