Benintendi uniform #

Curious as to why he chose 16 at the Razorbacks.  Does anyone know if that was his Madeira High School number?  He had 40 as a Red Sox last year but swithed to 16 this year.

I've no idea why he has an affinity for #16, but according to this link, Benintendi grew up "with one uniform number" and wore #16 "on his back starting in Little League:"
