Well, this may be unpopular, but he didn't have that super of a year from 3. Made less and attempted more than last year. He wasn't in the top 100 in makes (I realize we're only talking senior here) or 3-point FG% in the country.

But still a threat to win any 3pt competition.

I hear what you are saying but these contests do put weight on a player's niche and Dusty was definitely a player known as a 3pt threat. You would think that is all he did by what commentators said about him.

Sux but there will probably be other ones. Which one is this?

Yeah, but nobody would be guarding him in that competition.   ;)

Field is:
Matt Jones - Duke 34% 3fg
Peter Jok - Iowa 38% 3fg
Derrick Walton - Michigan 42% 3fg
Bryce Alford - UCLA 43% 3fg
Dewayne Russell - Grand Canyon 40% 3fg
Kris Jenkins - Villanova - 36%
Naz Long - Iowa State - 38%

Dusty by comparison is 38.7%. Clearly went with some bigger names like Jones and Jenkins that weren't as deserving.

Now, Matt Jones being in there is pretty pathetic.

He made the semis and shot 40% last year. Was supposed to be a lights out shooter coming out of HS and turned into a defensive specialist who could knock down 3. Pretty weak field overall, but Russell and Jok "the winner" had strong showings.

Dusty will be a good player in the D-League... Should have been in that contest, he is overlooked so much.

Anybody think maybe now Hannahs comes back next year to prove a point?

You don't pay very much attention do you?

We don't need any more ex-player assistant coaches. Plus, Dusty is more than talented enough to play pro ball somewhere if he wants. Maybe not the NBA, but definitely a Euro or Asia league.

I think you are missing the joke.

Pigsknuckles

He made his share of threes, but I saw his main skill as an illusive, take it to the hole and make something happen kind of guy. He demanded attention and opened things up elsewhere on the floor if he didn't have an open shot, or downhill run at the basket. Definitely could keep a defense off balance. Was fun to watch.

We would get away with it until we won it all and then instead of just vacating wins they would give us the death penalty

I think this is the very last straw and yes he will come back...perhaps wearing a disguise.  He needs to visit the set of the Americans tv show.  They have some excellent disguises.

I heard we have a new recruit for that final '17 slot...Rusty Dannahs, 6'3" SG from Uzbekistan.
