We literally have nobody there to support our guys. It's a home game for kentucky.

A Sweet Sixteen this year would help rejuvenate the fan base.

UK fans have nothing else to live for. Why wouldn't they show up?

Knot2brite

So because a bunch of people didn't take off work because they can't afford to go a tournament in this economy then we deserve to lose? Horse Piss

What a dumbass thing to say. These players have fought to be there. They deserve to win every game.

IronMountainHog

Kentucky fans have a short drive and are stupid enough to pay $80-120 a head to get in. We play better away from Fayetteville anyway.

JenksHawg

yeah that first crowd shot to open up was pretty depressing.  Only thought was - that's the difference in 15 years of winning and 15 years of losing.  Long ways from Barnhill South!

Pig Worshipper

The "fan base" has nothing to do with whether this team deserves to win. If they play hard and well, they'll deserve to win.

It shouldn't take a sweet 16 to rejuvenate. We're 25-8 in the SEC championship game.

Didn't say the team didn't deserve to win.

As others have said --- what seat are you in?

Fact of the matter is, we as a fan base still expect to lose a game like this. We hope to win but expect to lose. That's based on performance inconsistency at times. When we play more consistently in a season, we start expecting to win more as a fan base which allows more folks to feel more confident that making a trip like this will be worth the money via winning. UK fans expect to win and they therefore travel.

This will be ignored by many, but it's the truth.  Lots of people have lost interest....gotta win to fill those seats.  If we hang tough today and win a couple games in the tourney, folks will take notice and hopefully next year BWA won't look like a cave on gameday.

The SEC football, baseball, and basketball tournaments for some reason do not believe in rotation of locale. Baseball is permanently in Hoover, Alabama. Football is permanently in Atlanta, and basketball is in Nashville, Atlanta, and Memphis. Move these damn things around so some of the teams in the west or north can afford to travel easier. The damn BIG 10 tournament is in Washington DC and the ACC is in Brooklyn this year.

Basketball is in St. Louis next year.

Thats a nice start and great to hear, but basketball is the only one doing it. Football and Baseball will never move.

Hogs958

wow...great fan you are. I'm assuming you are there.

Kentucky fans have a decades long tradition of camping outside the arena and buying up all the tickets as the other teams lose.  So many can never see games in Lexington because they are all sold out that they wait all year and head to the SEC Tourney.  There are literally no tickets to be had for our fans.  This is EXACTLY what we accomplished all those years of the SWC Tourney.  This is called the Kentucky Invitational just like ours was Barnhill South.  This won't change just because we have had a couple of successful years.  It is in no way an indictment of our fans.  It is what it is.  As long as they keep winning in this tournament there will be very little tickets to be had.

Us being down 12 at Half has nothing to do with the fan base.

Lexington to Nashville - 234 miles
Lexington to St Louis - 338 miles

It will be exactly the same as long as they are playing.

Totally concur. Ridiculous that the tournaments/championships in sports such as football and baseball aren't rotated every few years. The league apparently believes that at least with those two sports there are no other venues capable or willing to host the games. Ludicrous for a league that's supposedly so far-sighted and elite.

The economy still tight on many of us so we can't go over the place to see them play.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

We just have to keep improving as a program. We keep doing that, the fans will come. That was proven in the 90s when we were winning and our fans were packing Atlanta when we played in the SEC tournament.
