Fantasy racing has made me love NASCAR that much more.  Every time they try to kill it internally with stupid rules changes, Fantasy NASCAR replaces that.

Truex Jr a B Driver?  That's going to be good value but hard to know when to use him.  I don't know if that means they expect him to regress with the switch to Toyota and coming off the highs of last year?  Normally the classifications are made based on the finishing position and number of wins they had the year before.

Ryan Newman back in the B pool too which is good.  I like that they narrowed down the A Pool a lot.  It sucked having like 15 drivers there last year.

I joined, cant seem to find the rules.

I understand "starters", but what is the bench?  once you pick those 8 are you stuck with them for the year?  or can still change them each week?  just a quick overview please.

Have to pick your starters and bench usually by Friday morning. I always pick mine way early in the week. At some point Friday morning they lock it to where you can't change your 8 drivers. You can however move bench players to starters until an hour or so before the race starts. You only get race points for how your starters do. You do get some points if your bench guys qualify well though. You can pick new drivers each week but each driver can only start 9 times during the year so that makes it tricky as the year progresses.

It does and be careful on the weeks that there's a Saturday race because the lock in will happen even earlier.

You get "bonus points" if any one of your 8 drivers for the week qualify in the top 4.  10 points for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd, and 1 for 4th.  Whether they start the race or sit on the bench for the race you get those points that week.

Because of that the lock in normally happens around 2 AM or so the day of qualifying or day before.  If it's a track with a Friday morning practice and Saturday afternoon qualifying, you may get to see them practice  and then set a line up.  If it's a track with first practice and qualifying on the same day you may get your team locked in the night before you see them on track.

Like you pointed out, it's good to pay attention to that date on the front page for that weeks deadlines.  If you have a "weird" lineup one week (say for a road course), sometimes it may behoove you to also set the following week at the same time so you don't forget.  There's been more than one occasion over the years where I've been stuck with road race starters like Allmendinger the next week at Michigan or wherever.

Remember, you get 9 starts with each driver all year.  Early in the year is a ton of fun because you can pick whoever, whenever.  Last year Harvick finished top 2 the first 15 races or so, people were making a ton of points on him.  And then some teams ran out when he got hot again later in the year.  The end of the year starts to get tough because you start running out of starts for people.

I'm pretty sure you can still pick! 

Because of Daytona's qualifying setup, there's zero bonus points for qualifying for the 500.  It also encourages people to sign up all the way to the start of the first race instead of a week ahead of time when the front row and duel qualifying order happens.

Give it a shot!  Don't give up yet!

Wasn't thinking Bueschler will be a B driver he made the chase.  I think down to about 30th in points is a B driver  Danica should be a B  Even though she drives like an F

Plate tracks and road courses make the C drivers easier.  Front Row is good on plates and usually a road course specialist you can count on for a road course.   XFINITY series fantasy would be real good.

The last few years there were hardly any road course guys other than Boris Said and he was in really bad equipment
