- Start out strong, getting an "early jump," winning at beginning of the season.
- Lose some you're not supposed to, win some you're not supposed to, in SEC play.
- Defense remains strong throughout entirety of regular and post-season.
- Offense "luke-warm to hot" to season mid-point, then gets cold toward the end of the regular season.
- Overuse the "favored" veteran bullpen arms, get surprised by "stud" underclassman arms hitting the wall, late in the season.
- Wind-up being "co-champs" of regular season, or just falling short of "titles."
- "Spurt of life" in post-season play, but falling just short of "hardware" again.
- Overall season is very competitive/a great success WRT stats and overall W-L record.

Wash.Rinse.Repeat.  Hopefully this is our year!

You're not wrong, however we always knew the schedule this year was much tougher in the second half or last third of the season.

And the dead hooker.  SMU was a great program in the 80's, I need someone a little older to tell me if they were as good as Bama, but to me they were on the same level.

If SMU boosters get back involved, they could be it again.

Quote from: PorkRyan on Yesterday at 09:30:08 pmMy opinion is he either isn't a very good hitting coach or he isn't a very good recruiter.  Having the holes in the offense last year and then having it fall apart this year tells us it's one or the other or both.

A little bit of an unpopular take on here over the last few years has been to discuss Nate and the issues with what he is doing, but now people start to come around.  I have to wonder how much of his past is a little bit of luck and timing.  He did recruit that class at MO st but they were all locals (according to his bio on the razorback site) and then here he hasn't really landed any non pitching studs on his own prior to this year (Stovall was all DVH and the relationship Stovall's dad and DVH had).

Arkansas under DVH has built one of, if not the best, facilities in all of college baseball.  That is a huge recruiting tool combined with DVH's post season track record of (fact check me please here) every recruiting class has gone to Omaha if they played 3 or 4 years?

I brought it up previously how after the run of centerfielders we had to just fall off and be chasing was mind boggling.  How did we not have a pipeline of quality centerfield talent after what seemed like a decade of studs?

The other glaring complaint is we do not see on field results from coaching through out a season in a player, take Slavens for example.  he had gap power and might have even lead the SEC in total bases if I remember right early in his time at Arkansas, after that he was pull only and Nate couldn't change that for a whole season.

Bottom line, there is something wrong with the common denominator in our offense.  Is it Nate or is DVH?  Who knows.  But we do sit here having a glaring issue and still are a solid top 5 program thanks to DVH.

Oh Auburn. I can only imagine how their fans are feeling after (what I think) letting go of the rope too early. I watched this game and it sure looked like they relaxed so much in the bottom of the 14th inning that they lost concentration.
